I'll be there - don't know Fagans but will try to get there before the gig.

That was an epic evening. The band were tight as ever, the sound was crystal clear and seeing them in a great venue - probably about 300 people - was like free money.
They started with first night - guitars where the piano was. Just beautiful.
Citrus was one of the encores - following a request from the audience. Clearly unplanned, but a treat.
some very good work done by one and all.

Delboy - sadly Bristol too far from Leeds this time around. Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, London and probably Newcastle are on the agenda.
Oh, and Paris this friday.

I've slightly changed my plans, but will drive down and aim to meet LilHan and Matt around 2pm after checking into my hotel.
I'm now going to Sheffield on the Tuesday night too.
Looking forward to seeing you all

Robbierobertson - I'm sure you will have a great time in Minnesota. I went over for the Replacements gig and the Vikings game a couple of weeks ago. It was a very impressive city - clean, modern with a well-educated and relatively prosperous population. The Light rail system was efficient and cheap - highly recommended, as is Brits pub.
I was doing a double take (as I was coming around the corners) because there were THS references everywhere - my hotel was on Nicollette and I took a taxi which I almost had to stop on Lyndale all before the Mats gig which route took me past signs for Lowertown.
I did not find the fabric store, but all was good (at least until AD was indicted, but that is another story).
Hope you have a blast.

I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time and THS will be just as great as last weekend. The Mats still a special band too - some of those songs are indestructible.

I can vouch for the fact that the band gave of freely their time to play the gig at my house. The people from these boards that were able to attend can attest that it was epic and one for the ages,
I can also vouch for the fact that the K&L Foundation received a four figure donation off the back of that gig at my house and without the pledge campaign it would not have happened.
I know the trustees of the K&L Foundation massively appreciate the efforts of the band, their people and the Scenesters.

He really did say, God bless you Mike Van Jura - check out the bootleg of the Harrisburg show at ABC on 4th Feb this year at the Who's excellent Hold Steady bootleg site.
He also said something very similar at the start of "Resurrection" in Montclair on New Year's Eve 2012
(And those are just 2 examples, which I can quote as I was in each room at the relevant time. I assume there are other examples as the band are very thoughtful).

the only time I've ever seen Chill Out tent played live was in Wolverhampton a few years ago - also Knuckles that night -, when Tad and Franz (remember him?) sang the "Elizabeth Elmore" sections.
It was a rather mellow version as I recall, but worked ok.

I was already heading to MN for the Vikings games that Sunday against the Patriots and thus this gig could not have been better timed.
Careful hangover and jet lag management will be required. No doubt that will merely amount to a couple more drinks.

I love the pledge stories - always fascinating to hear about the different things that were said and done.
The stories reflect equally well on all of the participants - band, crew, management and pledgers. I know that I'll never forget some of the amazing stuff, which has happened through the Pledge campaign - e.g. Harrisburg was epic and I remember texting that there were nearly as many great people and great hugs that night as great songs and (the usual) great performance by THS.

Someone suggested the flight out of London Gatwick was approx 11am so they came off stage in Brighton and left the venue about 11pm, then 6 or 7 hours sleep max before the journey to the airport. I think it is normally about 8-9 hours flight to Tampa plus messing around with luggage, check in etc, so effectively 10pm UK time when they arrived in Tampa.
What time were they on stage? I'll guess not before 9pm so 2am UK time (5 hour time difference).
They will have seriously earned their day off - I know that I feel like I've been run over by a truck after around a week of gigs, but you have to admire their energy and fortitude. Of course I was only watching the gigs and not having to play for hours under the heat of the lights..
Rock and roll can be a tough business.

Alex - that was fantastic and brought a massive smile to my face. Clearly you are a virtuoso with the sticks and drums
It seems that almost every one of these pledge stories is something that will never ever be forgotten.
I still can't believe the awesome day when the guys played at my house - it feels like a dream, but one of the greatest dreams ever.

As below- save that they added Stay Positive as a final bonus - not really an encore, but just an extra. Edit - no they didn't that was the night before also in Brighton - apologies but am suffering Festival-itis (A hangover). Spinners sounds absolutely magnificent these days - probably as good as Stations live. Attachments:

That was fun - a small venue, and the place went a bit crazy after they played Stations.
The set list picture follows in a moment, but whislt not a US shirt to be seen, there were loads of people queuing - and more than on heard t osay how excited they were.
As ever, band brought A game - can't quite believe we get to do it al lagain, albeit in a bigger venue tonight.
Thanks to Matt, Ian, Simon who brought hugs, beers and high fives to the front.

Brighton tonight - it is wet, windy and wild here, but will be a load of fun. Another small venue apparently - the Dome Studio. Still hunk of the quote that seeing THS in such places is like free money.
Some bad clashes between bands already, but looking forward dot it as the best way to lose one's hangover is to go and acquire anther one.....

When THS played at the Ritz, the venue's PA was at fault. I could not hear for 2 days afterwards - spoke to their then sound engineer andy who confirmed there was nothing the band or their people could do about it even though they tired.
Manchester last night was fantastic again - great to see so many wonderful people out for fun.

I did not know the rabbit ears were originally form chez rich & polly - I found them in one one of my kitchen cupboards where Bobby had apparently suggested they be left.
I have heard so many awesome stories - wish I'd seen Eric's milk crate mosh single properly; I was aware it was being signed but even Tad was saying it was a long time since he'd seen that.
