That was an epic evening. The band were tight as ever, the sound was crystal clear and seeing them in a great venue - probably about 300 people - was like free money.
They started with first night - guitars where the piano was. Just beautiful.
Citrus was one of the encores - following a request from the audience. Clearly unplanned, but a treat.
some very good work done by one and all.

Sounds great Howard thanks for the report. Its nice to see the band mixing it up a little bit. As you know you can normally pick the opener from one of maybe 4 songs, so to throw in a curve ball like this is really exciting. As a longtime fan its slightly disappointing to see the bulk of the set is much the same from show to show, but i fully understand that most of these shows are geared up to introduce new people to the band, or for people who havnt been to eight gazillion THS gigs and they want to hear the "hits". Dont get me wrong, i know the guys mix it up lots, i mean check the Germany setlist, Barfruit, Cattle, Swish, Sketchy is aaaaaaawesome, and its nice to know that there are four or five interchangeable slots in there, but id just love it if they could throw the whole lot out and not feel obliged to play chips, stay posi, rock probs, stations, hoodrat et al. That said, i could never really tire of hearing any of those songs, and im still balls explodingly excited about sheffield on tuesday. In ten years im pretty sure its only the second time theyve played my home city so they can do whatever the hell they want. Hopefully there will be a few scenesters there and itll be a good one, last time they came to sheffield the crowd was more inquisitive than involved

Got back from Paris early hours of this morning after a weekend break. Had a ball, great set from the band (as always), had a brief chat with Craig afterwards & got a photo. Bit of a panic when we sat outside the bar next door & Jane & I both thought the other had picked up the tickets. However they were still locked in our hotel safe! Girls on the door were helpful & we got in by downloading tickets onto our phone, whilst we were doing this she did try to charge Galen to get in though. Wonderful venue in an old train station, I've got a bit of a thing about abandoned train lines & couldn't have wished for a better venue.Only downside was I missed the Norwich gig which was just 25 miles from my house. Looking forward to London next week.
