Did anybody here do the sixpack hangout yet? Mine is scheduled for April! Curious what it was like.

After the six pack hangout sold out immediately, i pulled the trigger on 'roadie for a day'. It was nothing short of incredible. Showed up at 2:30 in Memphis for the tour kick-off. Met everyone, checked out the gear, watched in wonderment as they set up the stage, hung with all the guys, BS'd with everyone on the tour bus, watched a sound check jam of 4 songs off teeth dreams (and Tad teasing the opening riff of Sweet Part of the City), met Steve's family, sat around and BS'd more, watched a killer party and wore my arm out fist pumping, got a shout out from Craig during the show, had a few brews after the show and chatted with Steve, Craig, and Tim Berry (who also is a great guy), went home around 1:30. As a longtime THS fan, this was a dream come true and exactly what i hoped it would be. Glad they took the pledges down, otherwise i would have probably spent a small fortune doing more stuff with all the guys as they were so welcoming and fun to talk to.

Curious how you know your Jam session will be in May? Were you contacted at all? Or just assuming because they are coming to your town to help you party it down?

Contacted the day before. Ultimately, they are very flexible and dont really have an organized system (which imo makes it a ton of fun). Cheers and enjoy!

We pledged for the 2-song acoustic set on the bus or backstage. Ended up taking a lot of twists and turns to get there but in the end it was one of those nights we'll remember forever. Story is a little long but indulge us…. When they announced the first two rounds of tour dates we were a little surprised that they were coming to Dallas and not Austin where we live. Then out of nowhere they were coming to SXSW and we contacted them hoping to do it backstage at one of the classic venues they were playing like The Mohawk. Turns out their schedule was packed with all of the promotion for Teeth Dreams so we had one plan, then the plan had to change, then it changed again at the last minute. Finally we told them "hey, our house is downtown, why don't you just come to our place?". That ended up being the final plan. After their final SXSW show Saturday at Red 7, Craig took a run with Bill for his pledge event (see his blog post on his run ( link)) and designed that to end at our house. Craig and Bill hung out at our house chatting for 30 minutes about SXSW, bands to see, clubs. Then Steve and Tad got there and started warming up. Along the way Tad discovered Cards Against Humanity and couldn't stop laughing - that was memorable in itself. I think they all enjoyed some downtime from the grueling week of running from place to place or sitting in a generic hotel room. So another 30-45 minutes pass hanging with them and it was time to get started. They started out with a stunning rendition of Citrus as my wife and I pinched ourselves that we had THS sitting in our living room. Next up we requested Hoodrat and they were able to pull it off really well. We'd never heard them do that one acoustic before. Finally, Craig asked they add a 3rd song on because they hadn't played it the whole week (7 sets) - Almost Everything. God it was beautiful. After nearly 90 minutes at our house, they packed up and headed out. We were beaming. I've been listening to the audio over and over ever since then. We recorded the show (iphone) and took some pictures. You can find it for now at my Dropbox link ( link) though I hope the audio gets uploaded somewhere so I don't have to host it for ever. These events were wonderful. I can't thank them enough for creating such a special moment. I hope you hear the joy in the audio and see it in the pictures. Joel & Elisa

That breakdown in Hoodrat had me laughing out loud in the silent area of the library. This is so great. Thanks so much for sharing!

Joel & Elisa - thanks so much for posting that - absolutely fantastic stuff.
I've thought for a long time that the wonderful experiences with THS just keep on improving (from a very high start point). The generosity of spirit is captured by your post and your audio.

Thanks so much for posting! Gonna grab that audio tonight.
One small note, they did play "Almost Everything" their first night at SXSW. So good.

I was the runner Joel mentioned, and I remain super grateful to Joel and Elisa for inviting me to stay for the show. I've posted my videos of the songs here: www.dropbox.com/sh/3bxiv66ozhc7y2i/1B-OQln07W(Also my dorky pictures with Craig right after the run.) I may eventually put the audio from Joel's recording onto the videos, but not today. Joel posted a link to my post, but just to be sure, my post about the week and the run and the shows: sparetherock.com/wordpress/sxsw-2014-you-gotta-stay-positive/-Bill P.S. It was a lot of fun to see the Front Bottoms and then the Donkeys with Craig. Total happy coincidence that he showed up at the former, and he kindly invited me to go see the latter.

Amazing Stories! How soon in advance did the bands' reps contact you guys to schedule?
I bought the sixpack hangout and want to do it in Toronto next week, but I have yet to hear from anyone to schedule it.
Should I sit tight and wait a few more days before I bug them again?

Craig gives up drinking for lent. It wouldn't be much fun. I bought the same package and asked about the process. Email back from pledgemusic that the band is in the process of setting these up.

Participated in the Six Pack Hang last night. My Fiancee and I were invited onto the bus. Had a 90 minute conversation ranging from Rob Ford to Tour Stories to my hometown, Hamilton On. Which they are thinking of playing a gig there! Unreal experience. I brought a sixpack of root beers for Tad and Craig and they definitley appreciated it. I didnt think I could leave as a bigger fan, but I definitely did!
I look forward to hearing more of your stories! Cheers!

My jam session in Manchester is less than two weeks out - haven't heard from anyone yet to arrange anything. Anyone know if there's any way I can contact them first to start figuring out the where and when of it all?

Anyone know if there's any way I can contact them first to start figuring out the where and when of it all? Alex, no need to panic like I did! Just keep following up by messaging the Pledgemusic staff and they will get back to you. Might be a day or two before! Also, leave your schedule open the day before and after if youd like it scheduled. I ended up doing my six pack hang the day after I originally wanted. The band is busy with press alot of the time but they will squeeze you in! Have Fun!

Alex - I'd second the comments above.
The band and management are really busy, but incredibly kind and generous with their time and efforts - if they have made a commitment, have no doubts whatsoever it will be fulfilled. You may have a number of emails with them to finalise arrangements (and be polite, but gentle email reminders do no harm).
I'm sure you'll have an amazing story to share soon....

Well folks, the day finally came. Got to the academy at about 3.30, went into the venue whilst everything was getting set up and over the course of an hour or so got a chance to chat with Bobby and Steve about the day ahead and music in general. After getting to watch the band soundcheck (worth the pledge alone) I went up and played The Ambassador and Stuck Between Stations with the guys. It took me a minute or so to relax behind the kit and just play but it went really well, the guys were a joy to play with and seemed pretty happy that I knew the drum parts pretty well. We hung around for a while afterwards and talked shop a little before me and my girlfriend headed home for a couple of hours to eat and change. After the gig we were lucky enough to go and spend more time with the guys in the greenroom. I got to chat about basketball and Alan Partridge with Tad, talked gigging with Craig and posed for a photo with Steve at his request . It was all somewhat surreal but also really, really fun. It's so nice to respect people so much only to find our that they're just genuinely great guys. Here's a picture from the jam, and I'll try and stick the video of Stations up on here soon, too.
