I could've sworn there was a thread on this already, but my search came up empty.
Anyway, these lyrics from Star 18 are contenders for me:
Sorry I’m late, I got caught in a mosh With this dude that said he used to play with Peter Tosh
and
So Hold Steady at the Comfort Inn. Mick Jagger's at the Mandarin.
But for me the champ is still from Stevie Nix:
She said you remind me of Rod Stewart when he was young. You've got passion, you think that you're sexy. And all the punks think that you're dumb.

Any one else going to the walking tour/soundcheck/HH, or have been to the soundcheck/HH for previous shows? Never been but excited to do that for the Friday show. Hoping to get tix to the Thurs and/or Sat shows too. I did the soundcheck last year on the Friday. I brought my wife, who isn't a superfan but is a really good sport. We had a pretty good time, and it was good to briefly chat with a few band members. I teased Tad that he clearly didn't want to be there (in his total defence, he said he was sick, so I was probably way off base) and had a nice chat with Steve about, of all things, the importance of comfortable footwear. I'm glad we went. We won't be going to a soundcheck this year (although I would have liked to go on the walking tour), as I think I owe my wife a few more non-THS activities this year.

I missed him at Brooklyn Bowl (was back in my hotel room recovering...), but just his energy during Constructive Summer was enough to sell me on him. He's here in Vancouver and I'll be there.

If either of the first 2 dates are in New York I might be able to go. Holy shit If New York area, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't play the Stone Pony summer stage in Asbury Park, NJ, where they played with DBT 4 years ago.

or maybe even go and visit Brooklyn some time next year if that ends up a repeating thing. I'd be surprised if Brooklyn doesn't happen again this year late November/early December. Craig hinted as much from the stage, and at least one other band member implied that it was almost a sure thing.

* Knuckles and Certain Songs making it to the setlists Certain Songs was probably my favorite song of the weekend...something about how spare most of it was, with just Franz on keys and Craig singing.

Is there any plans for meetups before the shows? I'm coming over with three friends from Norway, and we have no plans at all. Would be nice to say hi to some of you guys one of the nights. Hey there. I'll try to find you at the Wednesday show and figure things out from there. My wife and I are probably going to be doing a bunch of sightseeing Thurs-Sunday (she's never been to NYC before), but I'm sure she'd also be into meeting up with others so that she's not stuck talking to me all weekend.

Hi there. Facebook link doesn't work (at least not for me). I just wanted to let you know that there's an organized 5k run at Prospect Park on Saturday morning: www.nyrr.org/races-and-events/2017/nyrr-jingle-bell-jog-5kI know about it because my wife's a runner and is planning on doing that run. I'm just giving you the heads up--not trying to change anything on your end.
Well, Patterson Hood, as noted above, is in town for a solo show at Rockwood MH on Dec. 1st. He has out of town shows booked on the 30th and 2nd, so, if Rockwood is late... There's some THS connections to High Waisted. Personally, I'd love to see Sunflower Bean open. Super-hot young band out of Brooklyn, and the bass player is my good friend's daughter. I know Craig finally saw Wussy last year, would love to see if they are still on his radar. They are one of the best bands in the country, to me.
Patterson Hood show is early (doors 6:30; show 7:30), so probably can't be an opener. But he could drop by for a cameo during THS...

Well, she does like little bits of colored paper...

Guys, Massive Nights at the Brooklyn Bowl is my next scheduled trip, and I'm starting to get excited. I have one concern, though: this time I'm bringing my wife. She's a good sport, and she enjoyed herself well enough when I brought her to THS in Seattle a few years ago, but four consecutive nights going to see a band that she is only casually familiar with...[exaggerated pull at my collar in worry].
How do you guys deal with bringing casual fans to shows? Again, this is more my issue than hers (she will be a good sport and enjoy herself because I'm enjoying myself), but I can't help but feel somewhat self-conscious standing next to someone that I've dragged there.

Thanks for the heads up! Mine cost $189 for some reason, but still terrific.

That being said the addition of Oaks to the setlist last night would be welcome any time I'm fortunate enough to see them. Oaks is now my #1 most wanted.

WAWTST has grown on me more and more with each listen. Almost every song is catchy, each in a different way.
One thing is driving me crazy on God in Chicago, where the lyric is:
"It's roughly the size of a baseball I said I wasn't totally sure, but yeah I could probably call someone"
I'm curious why Craig didn't end the second line with "but yeah I could probably make a call" for the rhyme. But knowing how meticulous Craig is, he likely avoided a rhyme because of the spoken word nature of the song.

Damn, can't make it for this one. But I do like this concept of a weekend of shows in one city. I hope everyone has a great time!

"There was a guest on stage during Stay Positive, but I didn't recognize him."
That would be"Mosh Pit Josh", who was running the merch booth. He guested on Stay Positive on Saturday night too, unless I'm mistaken.

Oaks is the best song THS released since Stay Positive, fight me Oaks is probably the song that I haven't yet heard live that I'd like to hear.

Pre-partying at Torst if anyone is in the area..... Hey man, I recognize you from your profile pic. I'm the guy who took the picture with you last night by the bowling lane because you're a dead ringer for my buddy who couldn't make the trip for the shows. Thanks for doing that with us.

It'll take someone a lot smarter than me to make better guesses. And those smarter someones have made guesses that seem likely to be correct on twitter in replies to the hints, if anyone's curious (I don't want to spoil them here just in case people want to be surprised.)

Hint for night three is up on Facebook. Obvious guess is Japandroids. For night 1, TA seems to be around, playing their own show December 2nd in New Jersey. So they seem to be available and possible. For night 2, Beach Slang seems to not be touring elsewhere, so maybe available. For night 3, Japandroids appear to be in Australia in early December, unfortunately. The guy in the picture is apparently William Shea, called "the lawyer behind the Mets" in his NYT obituary. That, plus the fact that THS opened for The Replacements at Forrest Hills Tennis Stadium near the old Shea Stadium means the Replacements are opening night 3. I'm kidding. It'll take someone a lot smarter than me to make better guesses.

If it's from BAGIA, and if Franz is there, then I'd guess Stations.
