Hey guys! New to this board but I'm capping off my tenth year of The Hold Steady fandom. I'm seeing them in Chicago this week and my buddy is interviewing them and wants to know if I have any questions for them. If you could ask The Hold Steady any questions, what would you ask?

I want to know if CF is referencing a real movie in the third verse of Almost Everything. If so, what movie?

The most important question:
"What does the future hold for THS?"
Or:
"One for the Cutters - Why?
"Why did Selvidge have a Welsh dragon on his guitar? (and where's it gone?)"

I was joking - it's not my favourite THS song!

Looking at last night's (admittedly tremendous) setlist I would like to ask where the band, three year's later, see Teeth Dreams? It would be a shame if it completely dropped off the setlist - I still play it a lot. My other question would be why do I feel so jealous here in the UK? OK - I can answer that one! Third question - are the shows being recorded.

As these city stopovers have been in NYC and Chicago to date is there any chance we'll get one in London soon? I'd understand a Minneapolis/ St. Paul one next but we're waiting... and primed!

The only drawback, for me, is that the album itself isn't their best work. As much as I love certain songs (sorry) I'd happily substitute "Big Cig" for "You Gotta Dance" on the setlist.

That being said the addition of Oaks to the setlist last night would be welcome any time I'm fortunate enough to see them.

So I know this interview already happened, but I've always wanted to get the Craig's/The band's side of the story on the legendary Baltimore Rosalita (come Out Tonight) singalong. This one of my favorite THS related stories, and completely changed the way I hear that Springsteen song.

I'd like to know when the members of the band each felt like they "made it" or knew they were experiencing something special.
Was it The Village Voice cover? Lolla 06? Letterman.
What was the moment where Tad looks at CF and goes "This is fucking bonkers."

What was the moment where Tad looks at CF and goes "This is fucking bonkers." They talk a fair bit about this in the podcasts who were released along with the AKM and SS reissues. And they seem to point at the VV cover, leading up to the release show for Separation Sunday. Still, I guess they must have felt they've reached another level somewhere in the BaGiA cycle. They talk a lot about how it felt reading about AKM at the end of year lists (as "the best album no one heard this year"), and I would guess they felt it a bit differently at the end of 2006.

Yeah, I remember the podcasts touching on the Village Voice cover and the year end lists, I just wonder if that first oversees Festival before they went on stage in front of thousands stopped and said "Guys, this is nuts!"
