I'm not one to complain about things in advance (yes I am), but I'm only now realizing the problem with going to three straight concerts where the band will play the same album all the way through. And I'm bringing a friend who isn't a fan like me. So, set me straight. Different, awesome openers every night? Different encores every night? Drink a different type of booze each night? Help. Have they confirmed they're playing BAGIA front to back each night? I know they did for the Riot Fest shows, but I don't recall anything similar for the Brooklyn Bowl shows. If I had my druthers, I'd want wildly different sets each night. But who needs druthers when you're getting 4 kickass rock shows. Good point. I was just assuming. Because I'm an assumer.

Here's some higher-res images of the posters so you guys can check them out. I talked with Craig almost a year ago about the idea for the map poster and glad we got to make it a reality with this. Was fun diving back in to all the lyrics again to compile the map one and update the original one from the Earl show. Holy crap Lionel Ritchie is dancing on the ceiling. Funny.
You said "set me straight." I was hoping to 😉 Apologies if it came off a bit harsh. I'm in the midst of potty training the world's most stubborn toddler and sort of angry at the world right now. Very much looking forward to some positive vibes here in a few weeks at these shows. Carry on, brother.
Haha I have a 2.5 year old and a 6 month old, so I hear ya. "The kids at the shows will have kids of their own"--indeed.

And if it helps: The BAGIA parti will make up roughly half the set. You'll get your fair share of different songs each night, I would guess. Thanks for the response. As I hope I got across in my other reply just above, my original post may have come across a bit strong. I wonder, especially with Franz back in the mix, how many different songs they'll rehearse in advance of the show. Finding out will be part of the fun.

And I'm bringing a friend who isn't a fan like me. So, set me straight. Different, awesome openers every night? Different encores every night? Drink a different type of booze each night? Help. Dude, do you see the number of people looking for tickets to these shows? If you're not psyched to be attending then put em up for grabs so others can enjoy themselves without overthinking the hell out of the situation. You're essentially bitching about being able to see our collective favorite band (who aren't playing much these days) three nights in a row. Christ, I'll buy them from you and you can use the money to buy the rest of us drinks. Whoa. I think "bitching" is a bit harsh (although my use of the word "problem" may have come across stronger than I intended; maybe I should have said "potential issue"?), but each to their own. I'm flying in from Vancouver for the shows, so I think I'm sufficiently psyched. Allow me to elaborate on my overthinking (which is definitely an apt description, and something I'm often guilty of): (1) one of my favourite things about seeing a band that I love and that has a deep catalog is finding out what song they'll play next; (2) BAGIA is obviously a great album, although if I had to choose I'd probably personally rank SS and AKM above it; and (3) when I'm going with a friend who isn't a huge fan, in the back of my mind I'm hoping he's enjoying himself, which could be affected by him hearing the same songs in order each night (although who knows, maybe he'll like that MORE?). But rest assured I'll be there enjoying the hell out of myself (as long as you'll still allow me to go).

I've sussed out a few BBQ places I'm going to hit pre-show.

Three weeks out... any word on openers? Yes. There is a different opener every night. Get there on time. Don't ask questions. Be in the front row. Trust. I'm surprised there isn't already speculation about the hint THS posted on twitter respecting the first night opener: an outline of the State of New Jersey. Since Wednesday is the only night I don't have tickets for, I hope the openers on Wednesday are NOT Titus.

I got lucky and this morning snagged two tickets for Saturday, so now I'm in for all three. Huzzah!

Based on my experience this morning, I think there's a lack of clarity/glitch in the system. At 10 am this morning I refreshed for Saturday night, indicated I wanted two tickets and clicked the button ("get tickets"?) at the bottom. Then the Saturday night page refreshed and it indicated there were no tickets available. On a lark I just clicked "get tickets" again and it took me to the checkout with the two tickets I had originally indicated. I suspect that what happened is that when I initially clicked my two tickets, it put those tickets into my "cart" and then took me back to the Saturday night show page just in case I wanted more tickets (you know, if there were actually more tickets available). Had I not have clicked "get tickets" a second time on a lark, I would've given up or refreshed the page or opened another browser window and lost the two tickets that were in my cart.
Or maybe there's just a glitch. Either way, I got lucky.

FWIW, when I had tickets for the December 2014 Toronto shows and couldn't make it, I sold them to another Unified Scenester with no problems at all. Good people.

I'm in the same spot, trying to trade a Thursday or Friday ticket for a Saturday.

If anyone has any extra Saturdays, I have Fridays to trade for it. Let me know! Hey, buddy, back of the line! It seems that Saturday is the really tough ticket...hopefully everyone on here who missed out can snag one on Friday.

Myself +1, for all three nights. Also coming from Vancouver... we're almost at 2% of the crowd already. Anyway, tried to snag soundcheck passes with no luck -- barely managed to grab the three night pass at all but I stayed positive and it worked out. Excellent. For me, it was weird...immediately there were no 3 day passes or Saturday tickets available, so I settled for Thursday and Friday.

I'm coming from Vancouver and was only able to get tickets for Thursday and Friday. If anyone ends up with an extra ticket for Saturday, I'd be very happy to take it off your hands. If I'm coming all that way, I'd like to go to all three nights if possible.
I may be able to trade a Thursday or Friday ticket for a Saturday ticket (friend I'm coming with is a fan, but isn't necessarily an ALL 3 NIGHTS fan).

Alzado played in Cleveland too! And LA. I was specifically referring to the Riotfest speculation.

We've had Denver and Chicago clues the last two days which led my girlfriend to suggest riotfest, which might also explain the delay in waiting until the 18th. Riot Fest makes total sense, especially because they're into the "[Band] plays [Album that made them famous]" format. Â Selfishly, I hope that's not the case, though. Â I'd really love a club show, since their last Denver date was a hour-long festival set. But I'll take what I can get! Jordan played in Chicago and Alzado played in Denver (I had to look that one up).

I can absolutely confirm this is true and it is why I said earlier that to truly "tour" expenses include "wages for these nine people (including crew) who probably want to be paid at least what their current home jobs do at least". I've heard this from other similar sized acts too. I imagine at some point THS may not have had day jobs, but at this point in their careers it makes total sense. Craig's talked about keeping his living expenses modest/reasonable so that he can continue to do what he loves--make music and tour. The implication was that he didn't have or need a day job.

Obviously Galen is going on tour with Frank Black for the 15th anniversary of the album "Dog in the Sand".

Thanks for all of this. It's been a fun read, and I intend to go over it again in detail some time later. Also, further to my half-joking assertion on a previous page that you may actually be Craig, I'm considering making it a life goal to ensure that Craig reads it and then tells me what's what.

Theory: skepticatfirst is actually Craig, tired of not getting enough credit for his amazing lyrics and overarching story.
But seriously, thanks for this. It's a really fun read, and it's caused me to revisit some songs with new perspective. In particular, I'm getting a lot more enjoyment out of a few of the songs on the back half of Almost Killed Me (Knuckles, Sketchy Metal and Sweet Payne) that I always thought weren't quite up the standard of almost all of the other songs in the catalogue.

Regrets

I regret not going to more THS shows last year. I made the trek to the THS/DBT shows in Asbury Park and Long Island, but I missed out on so many more. I wasn't in town tor their show in Vancouver (apparently a good thing, since the show, at a casino, wasn't great due to venue), I thought about going to California for Solana Beach/LA on back to back nights but talked myself out of it, I briefly considered returning to NY for THS/Replacements in Queens, and I made the mistake of not going to Toronto for the Horseshoe shows.
If THS tours again, I won't make the same mistake(s).

I submitted a video of my 5 month old son rocking out to the last minute or so of Positive Jam. I recorded it last year (he's 15 months now), and it isn't really relevant, but I submitted it on the off chance Craig sees it and gets a kick out of it. I know I do.

Did I read they're doing "Stay Positive" all the way through Saturday night? If that's true then fuck me. My favorite THS album hands down. My guess, based on nothing, is BAGIA Friday and Stay Positive Saturday.
