Whatever the future may hold, this is a total hatchet job.

stranglers and simple minds tonight. oldies weekend Same for me tomorrow - another band I first saw 30 plus years ago! I'm taking a sweepsatke on the first "lemeseeyourhands" To offset the inevitable bombast, I'm off to see Miles Hunt and Erika Nockalls do an acoustic show tonight//

I went to see the Waterboys last night. Apart from getting depressed that I have been seeing them live for over 30 years, their current bassist is David Hood, father of Patterson Hood of Drive By Truckers Fame.

Did he bring anyone with him, or was it just him and the guitar? I would love to hear Certain Songs, if that was the case. Just Craig and his guitar.

Off to see Patti Smith and her band perform 'Horses' in Glasgow on 9th June. Should be some show, I last saw her in 1996.

I noticed this too. That whole part of Sweet Part more and more sounds like it's a direct lift from St Dominic's preview. Fair play - they are both amazing songs.

Is there a religious cult / mass suicide vibe there too?

Just noticed the substitution of "Belfast City" for "Sacramento" in Sweet Part - a nod to Saint Dominic's preview By Van the Man.

I really hope I get my EP in 2014, or at least for my bday on the 3rd... Mine made it to NE Scotland today - unsigned vinyl, laminate, t shirt....

But navy sheets has the genius line "trying to find a DNA match to match their heads to their hats". Not too fond of same kooks or rock problems, but love the smidge.

Great gig in a very intimate venue. Saddle Shoes made an appearance. Oaks awesome. Craig bordering on too far gone to deal!!

Anyone else in? Really looking forward to this after Glasgow last week. I've conveniently managed a holiday in the north east to coincide . Bringing my best mate along for his first Hold Steady gig. Happy days!
