Sigh. The first LA show I've missed in at least 10 years. Thank God they announced the Austin date for next Friday or I'd really be hurting. And, I still have my first Minn show by the boys (and The Replacements) in Sept! So, I guess I have nothing to complain about.
Either way, looking forward to the setlist and scene reports! Make me proud So Cal'ers!

. I love the Mats, they helped me get thru my teen years, I'm looking forward to both equally, I just hope they get equal time. Not gonna happen. That said, Lucero and THS are going to be so jazzed to share that stage, we'll get fantastic short sets from both of them. With any luck, you'll see Craig and Ben on stage during the Mats' encore. Can't wait.

Really surprised that Stations wasn't played to a festival crowd.
But, happy to see that "Wait Awhile" was in there. That should also be played more.
"On with the Business" sounded great at SXSW a few times, FYI.

This is my friend: www.backstreets.com/johnanderson.htmlAnd I was in VA to share the show with him (along with about 20 folks from all over the world). Oh and the show he saw before this weekend? THS at the 9:30. Music is my savior.

OK. Time to start playing "Wait Awhile."
If this becomes the "Our Whole Lives" of this tour I'll freak the fuck out.

Not the end of the world, but little bummer. Anyone else get such a note? Yup. I got one too. And, like you, I already purchased the black vinyl also when the pre-order just wasn't coming. So, when the new one comes, someone at work is going to get a killer present!

Every day on the way to 1st grade lately, we listen and sing along to "Spinners."
"Never let them tie you up....."

I'll take the Bruce and E Street Live at Winterland 12/15/78 bootleg over most live albums any day. Great choice. I always go back to the 1978 Capitol Theater show (Piece De Resistance), but this one might be the stronger overall show. Throw my hat in the ring for The Last Waltz. Ummm, obviously, I guess.

Santa Barbara 2010 (like dealwiththedealers said above). One of the best crowds. So. Much. Joy. Thought we would get Killer Parties at the end (even Tad and Bobby looked at each other and wondered), but alas, it didn't happen. Dude. I forgot you were at this show. Were you the tall dude with long hair up front with me and my buddies? One of them had his glasses broken during Barely Breathing. I do have long hair, but I'm not tall.... I was up front. Not sure if we met, but we all knew each other after that show.

Yes, this thread. Even though I saw 8 shows at SXSW, I'm jonesing for more. So, I'll live vicariously through you guys. But until then:
I'd seen the guys a few times before, but....
The Fillmore (SF). 2008 Rock and Roll Means Well tour with DBT. Life changing. Met lots of great new friends, heard lots of great songs. Had a tough year, and those two nights meant more to me than just about anything else.
Two nights at the Bowery in 2009. Fantastic. Met more new lifelong friends. Got to meet Brendan. All of Separation Sunday. Yeah, I missed the Rosalita night, but these two were killer.
Vancouver 2009. Surprisingly fantastic setlist.
Santa Barbara 2010 (like dealwiththedealers said above). One of the best crowds. So. Much. Joy. Thought we would get Killer Parties at the end (even Tad and Bobby looked at each other and wondered), but alas, it didn't happen.
Now, I move to Austin in 2014 and see 8 shows at SXSW. Got to introduce the band at one, got called out by Craig at the final show as the guy who went to them all. Even got the very distinct "point" during the "we couldn't have even done this if it wasn't for you" part of Stay Positive.
I fucking love this band. Can't wait for more.

It's worth it to listen to the whole record on headphones, if you haven't already. Wow.
