Where does Teeth Dreams rank in the THS LP catalogue? Feel free to list your full ranking below. Although I love the record, I actually have it ranked last out of the 6:

Probably right below the middle for me. Still hasn't been long enough for me to fully decide but as of right now I'd go:

Separation Sunday Boys & Girls Stay Positive Almost Killed Me Teeth Dreams Heaven Is Whenever Are you me? This is my exact ranking. I really wish the alternate lyrics for the Only Thing were used for the final cut. I don't understand that at all. I am very glad that Teeth Dreams exists, because it's pretty much exactly what it should be, and what I need it to be. Does that make sense? Nah, but whatever.

I think Teeth is much better than its reviews, and I also think Pitchfork should find some more contributors that are music fans.
For what it's worth:

Sep Sunday Stay Positive Teeth Dreams BAGIA (you could flip this one and TD) Almost Killed Me Heaven is Whenever That said, there's no shame in being one through five on this list, and even six has its moments. "I celebrate their entire catalog..."

The last two are really tied. Combine the two and you'd have a heck of an album though.

Stay Positive Separation Sunday BAGIA Almost Killed Me Heaven is Whenever Teeth Dreams
I've been trying and trying, but I can't get past only loving maybe 4 of the "Teeth Dreams" songs. The album is just so relentless and dark, to the point where a lot of the songs run together for me in their pacing and muddy production, and that's never been a problem with me and THS. And I know I'm seriously the only one here who feels this way, but "On With the Business" is *by far* my least favorite track in the whole catalog. "Almost Everything" and "Oaks" redeem the whole thing for me. So it's not to say that there aren't bright spots! All things considered though, "Teeth Dreams" is the last one I'll reach for.

Stay Positive I've been trying and trying, but I can't get past only loving maybe 4 of the "Teeth Dreams" songs. The album is just so relentless and dark, to the point where a lot of the songs run together for me in their pacing and muddy production, and that's never been a problem with me and THS. My main problem production-wise is the vocal treatment on some of the tracks, which i know has bothered others as well. The completely gratuitous reverb and swirling echo thing on Runner's High ruins the track for me. Aside from that, I love the sound of the record. I'm also a much bigger fan of the demo version of Wait Awhile. At the end of the chorus ("little girl, you're gonna rush right in...") on the album version, Craig sings what I can't stop feeling should be the harmony and not the melody. On the demo version, he sings the lower vocal line while Steve (or Tad) sings the harmony (which is the melody on the album version...) and it just CLICKS way better for me. Seemingly a minor complaint, but it makes all the difference for me in whether or not I come back to that track (which I almost never do). This same swap of harmony/melody in the album vs. demo versions happens on The Only Thing, but it bothers me a lot less than it does for Wait Awhile.

My only beef with TD is that it doesn't have enough bass. I've found I like it a lot more in my car with the bass cranked up a few notches.
also, I suppose I'll bring this up: I think Sep Sunday is their best, but Stay Positive is my favorite.

Sometimes SP is my favorite too. It just nails everything. And may have the most varied emotional range of all of their records

I just never go back to it. It starts so strong but loses me about halfway through. Its got great songs but I don't think its very cohesive. And at this point I prefer the live versions of most of the songs.

I've been listening to this album for months, since March when it was released. I listened to it almost every week for over a month definitely chalking up at least 20 listens. I really do like this album, and the best part is that even though it slowly sunk in, when it did it was worth it. It gradually grew on you and became better each listen.
In the time since then I've also listened to all their other albums multiple times as I can never get sick of THS. But these albums have stood up better over time with three times the amount of listens as TD. Overall, as much as I do enjoy most of TD, it really can't beat most of the catalog. Except for Heaven Is Whenever- great songs, but as an album it doesn't really fit. Feels like it could've just been an EP or singles album.
Bottom line: TD is great, but its not the best. I would rank it 5 out of 6.
