The EP is out! Tracks (not on the record are):
Three Drinks They Know Where I Live Extras Dennis & Billy
Yay!
Edit: Now that I'm listening, "They Know Where I Live" is "Dudes from St. Paul."

Shit, for those of you who've heard the record, is "Going to a Show" as good as I hope it is?
Edit: Oh yeah, he played that in LA in 2012 when I saw him! I wish my 47 year old mind was sharper.....

So, not one song from the first solo record? That's a ballsy setlist...can't wait.

From the PR today regarding their new record, out June 2nd.
Taylor explains why the album is called All Your Favorite Bands: "The main line of the title track is 'And may all your favorite bands stay together.' I know that my favorite bands are a really deep part of who I am. They help define me, they help represent me, they trigger certain emotional memories, and they stand for the ideals and lifestyle that I will always hope to achieve. And I don't mean rock and roll fantasies, but rather concepts like freedom and enlightenment. I would love for someone wishing me well to put it in the terms of 'may all your favorite bands stay together.' That would be a real friend. That person would know what truly matters. To me, the statement of 'All Your Favorite Bands' immediately gets down to a highly personal and singular part of anybody in a way that few other concepts can. So that's why we named our record after that song.”
I can't help but think of The Hold Steady when I read this.

I'll buy whatever they are selling (unfortunately), and I'll take any extra copy of BGIA that I can wear out...but....man, it's time to reissue the first two. I'm sure the band would if they could. Hopefully someday soon.

I already have a shirt, but I just want to join the chorus of people saying that Howard rocks.

Yesssss! You have no idea how happy I am to hear that! I'm assuming the rest of the stuff came as well, in the same package? Nope, just the lyrics. Sorry.

212 Margarita is my white whale. I think the last time they did it was 08/09 in Birmingham I believe. JDill was there (i think)? Actually is was Athens in 08. Very sweet to see. I still have never seen Sketchy Metal live. I think it would be awesome now with Steve on board. I saw it twice (Bowery, NY and Vogue, Vancouver) in '09. I mean, everyone keeps a list of the setlist from every THS show they've seen, right?

The pause in Banging Camp gets me every time. It's impossible not to air drum after that sucker.
