I'm glad to have it as I'm glad they're moving forward. I'm glad they're enjoying being a band, and you can really hear it in these songs -- that hasn't always been the case post SP.
I can't wait to spend more time with the three I hadn't already heard. The radio play went by fast.
I do sort of wish there was a classic THS dusty slow jam and a Constructive/Adderall/Hot Soft-style burner, but there's so much to unpack that it's fine.

I've got the vinyl (though I haven't had time to listen yet) but no mp3s. I did listen to the radio premiere last night, though.
It's hard to think of this as a new record or muster the same excitement with so much of it already being out in the world. Blackout Sam was my favorite on first impression though, because it did get so different. I liked the guitar solo a lot.
Epaulets really caught me off guard coming out of Haircut.
It'll take enough proper listens to catch up the new new songs to the older new songs in order to really evaluate what my favs are, but Entitlement Crew, Stove, Star 18 are still the standouts to me as of this morning.

I will agree with the one review I saw that mentioned hoping for more guitar solos. Though I feel like the band is more about serving the song as a 6-piece at this point, and I really enjoy that too.

I fully support THS making a Green Day reference in Denver! ha Wasn't Billie Joe Armstrong sort of a friend of Lifter Puller? I seem to remember Craig talking about Armstrong bringing Joe Strummer to one of their shows. I'm not enough into Green Day to catch the reference. Could you enlighten me? "The montage set to the time of your life." Good Riddance (Time of your Life) soundtracked pretty much every montage when I was leaving high school.

I was really tempted to ask Craig about this at the DC show over the weekend, but figured they'll tell us all when they're good and ready.

Don't fret about the tracklisting. It's a brilliant album. Excellent news. As others have mentioned I’ve seen the leaked track listing and it looks exciting. JJA - do you think there will be much press surrounding this release? Something of a return to form sort of thing? I hope so. I want in-depth interviews with the guys and acoustic performances and all the trappings (though I know all of those obligations are what the guys have said they *don't* want, so I'm tempering those hopes some).

if anyone from the band is listening, I'll drop extra $$ on a package with a reprint of the black Hold Steady Almost Killed Me shirt and a 2x 7'' of the leftover four songs.

Just saw proposed title and tracklist (by accident) on another site. Definitely strange sequencing. Hope the other four tracks come out on a 10'' or something.

It doesn't look like any of these five are floating around YouTube yet. Normally, I like to wait for studio versions of THS tunes, but I don't know what their timeframe is here and I've gotten used to periodic new THS. youtu.be/Y4IljDIk-KgDenver Haircut is here at around the 1:30 mark, I've listened to it a lot! thanks for this. good tune!

I'm searching for Respective Coasts, too. The hard drive I had it on crapped out, and it's not on iTunes anymore.

I forgot about On with the Business, which I love. And Saddle Shoes and Records and Tapes as non-album tracks. There's more good out of this era than not.
It just needs another breather or two in the second half.

I still really like it as a collection of songs, but I'm with what Craig said this year: that he wished it had keys. The highs are still pretty high, though. Spinners, Only Thing, Oaks all rule.

I have a feeling that the record made by the same man with the same cast is going to sound similar to the last two, but I loved them ( the last one in particular) so much that I'm excited for word.

I just want new music in whatever form it arrives in. A new record would be fun for the vinyl completist in me, but a 7'' box set (or 7'' series) of these singles with a charitable component would scratch that itch too.

I never got a shipping notification email, and my account page at KRM says it shipped a week ago (but still says tracking isn't available). I guess I'll see it someday.

I really appreciate that the band (Craig especially), both in this podcast and more generally, don't shy away from talking about the tension between art and commerce, or interpersonal stuff for that matter. Yep. I'd been wanting to hear perspectives on the fallout from SP and then the reunion, and this was pretty great for that. I also wholly agree with Craig that Teeth Dreams needs piano. Or something for texture.
