Craig announced that there will be a new album. He couldn't reveal release date, however.
He mentions it at about 8:05 of this interview with Buzzfeed's AM2DM.

This is great news, although I'm still expecting it to be a collection of the singles with a few new ones rather than a THS album proper

I’ll be very happy to have the singles on a physical format. My THS vinyl collection feels lacking knowing there’s so much that’s not in it.

just heard a great hour-long podcast interview with Selvidge; the podcast itself ("The Mix with Chris Milam") is new and Steve was the first guest/episode.
in the last minute, Steve confirms they are releasing the new THS album this year.... references the previously released tracks and 5 unreleased tracks (which I'm guessing are the new songs they've played most recently).
he says the newest tracks were recorded at ISOKON studio in Woodstock this past January..... it was cold.

Happened to see a leak yesterday, the album went up on amazon for a brief period of time. Just saw the track listing, which is a little weird. First 5 tracks are new, the next 5 are already released. Shockingly, Eureka does not make the cut! Wouldn't surprise me if they release a deluxe edition with the remaining 4 tracks on an ep or something though.
I think there'll be an announcement sooner than you might expect...

I'm not going to say any more though because it doesn't really feel like my news to break!

Just saw proposed title and tracklist (by accident) on another site. Definitely strange sequencing. Hope the other four tracks come out on a 10'' or something.

It will be quite interesting to see how they frame this album. Ten songs, five of them allready released. I don't mind that at all, I just think it's great they're releasing stuff. But it's obviously something different than the previous albums. A collection of new-ish material, rather than a conventional album, the way we're used to think about them. I'm just curious about what the "story" about the release will be from the band itself.

if anyone from the band is listening, I'll drop extra $$ on a package with a reprint of the black Hold Steady Almost Killed Me shirt and a 2x 7'' of the leftover four songs.

Don't fret about the tracklisting. It's a brilliant album.

Don't fret about the tracklisting. It's a brilliant album. Excellent news. As others have mentioned I’ve seen the leaked track listing and it looks exciting. JJA - do you think there will be much press surrounding this release? Something of a return to form sort of thing?

JJA - do you think there will be much press surrounding this release? Something of a return to form sort of thing? I hope so. I want in-depth interviews with the guys and acoustic performances and all the trappings (though I know all of those obligations are what the guys have said they *don't* want, so I'm tempering those hopes some).

The leaked release date falls nicely togheter with shows/weekends, so I would guess that at least Craig and Tad will do plenty of press and promo in the days between the shows.

Man, haven't been on the board forever and come and see this! I was wondering as they never released the last few songs they played live. Would love to see official word somewhere with artwork and tracklist.

“Thrashing Thru The Passion” Denver Haircut Epaulets You Did Good Kid Traditional Village Blackout Sam Entitlement Crew T-Shirt Tux Star 18 The Stove & The Toaster Confusion In The Marketplace I love the album title but even if the as-yet-unheard tunes are real bangers, this looks like an LP I'll be skipping much of side two. Most of the singles that made the album cut are my least favorite of the bunch and considering how THS is known for epic album closers, Confusion seems like an odd choice. Hoping Eureka gets a proper vinyl release at some point since it didn't make the cut. Still, any new music from THS is cause for excitement.
