Seriously, what's up with all these horrible opening gigs? I realize the exposure is great and the money is at least good, but it's just...ew.

c'mon... DMB aren't a good band, and Counting Crows aren't a great band... but they're big bands and this shows that somebody is noticing THS. they'll make new fans, get more money, and all that good stuff

I'm going to go with a "WHOO! I've never been to any of these cities and I bet the catering backstage is going to rule!"

I have seen DMB a couple of times and while they really aren’t my favorite band, they do put on one hell of a live show. It would be interesting to see THS open for them since they are…how do I put this diplomatically…so different. Either way it’s cool to see the guys get some exposure on some big tours, and really it’s not like they are opening for a Creed reunion or Nickelback.

It would be interesting to see THS open for them since they are…how do I put this diplomatically…so different. that is not atypical ... just last year DMB had two of my all-time favorites in that slot along the way ... robert earl keen and alejandro escovedo. regardless of your opinion of DMB at least note a lot of care goes into selecting their openers and Dave personally introduces the opener onstage every night ... a class act in that regard.

"I hate nothing worse than when vocalists sing in a voice entirely different from their real voice. Dave Matthews comes to mind, unless he talks like that. I doubt it." -Craig Finn
im not trying to put more negativity into this thread, or saying this tour is good or bad necessarily, just this quote jumped to mind...

actually Kid Rock would make more sense, since he also inserts blatant references to old bands he likes in his lyrics, though usually much less subtly then Craig okay i prefer Kid Rock to DMB
