DMB: at least they aren't Creed THS opening for a big dumb rock band (not Creed, but like Korn) would be pretty hilarious, especially if they can get a good pit going DMB are just so bloody bland

6/12 & 6/13 SPAC works for me, my wife likes DMB and her parents live by there.
Does anyone know when and where tickets go on sale?

for the record, my wife and kid said they would go if the show came to Philly area...I may be outvoted.
Dustin- if it happens, could you meet me in the parking lot with some backstage catering goodies?

The sad fact is yes I agree and hate 95% of DMB fans

Hey the man writes and plays his own music, and from what I hear hasn't killed a hobo in years.
He's alright in my book.
Need some more love in this thread

I was never fond of the extraordinarily bland DMB, but even worse, I will never be able to look at DM the same way after hearing from a stagehand on one of his shows about Dave's apparently well-known fondness for "blumps."

no problem ... won't read the post. still want a new t-shirt. p.s. - sunshine, someday you need to explain how you can be so anti-dave but so pro-mike doughty. those two are peas in a pod, good friends, similar unorthodox musicianship, etc etc (private discussion ... this thread is already bumming me enough ... no need to pile on)

I think it is good news for the band. The people who see DMB shell out big bucks, and will go home and download the tunes and rock out. Maybe even tell a friend or two. Let's not all get up on our collective high horse. If somebody came to your job and said "hey, I know you haven't had a paycheck in a month, but I'm going to pay you handsomely to [insert your job here] for two weeks. Plus you get all expenses paid and help your career as a [insert your job here] by exposing you to people who will support your job as a [insert your job here]. What do you say?"
Of course all of you are going to say, "that doesn't seem very cool or fit with my perceived image. I'll go another six months or more without getting paid." Right?

Right? what he said. those of you know me and know where i am from, you know i too close to the action with both bands to get involved here. i am no longer going to defend DMB on any account even when i see posts that are inaccurate, inane or inything else (sic). i am going to congratulate THS on landing a very significant opening slot based entirely on their music catalog only. i am retiring from posting in this thread. see ya at the rawkshow. or not. it don't make a fuck to me.

hey i said its a good thing for the band... but we can still rib them about it I'm in agreement with tlon here. Good for them -- but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna laugh about that (hilarious, gross, probably untrue) DM story. The contrast between their image and that story is just electrically funny. That said, rawk, I didn't realize you had strong feelings about the DMB. You know how I feel about denigrating friends' interests, and I won't pile on.
