Hi Howard, I'd love one too. Maybe #129. I'll PM you as well. Thanks a bunch for doing this!

I'm also not so fond of the cover of For Boston. For Boston is a cover? Nope... I'm not sure why I wrote that. Long day maybe?

Navy Sheets. I'm also not so fond of For Boston.
There are some other songs I'm more likely to skip (Lord, Cutters, Chillout Tent) but mostly because they're not songs I had in mind when I was in a THS mood. They're fine songs if I know what I'm getting into.

Saw the headline and was jazzed as I'm in T.O. for much of December. Unfortunately, not these 4 days. Bummer.

I met up with them at 5pm; doors were at 8, opener at 9. Hope that helps.

I'll note that attendance at the Portland and Seattle shows was good. Maybe not sell-outs but certainly seemed to be good number of people. Vancouver show had lousy turnout, although I'd like to chalk this up to suburban, seated venue. Vegas was small crowd although it's a weird market and Phoenix was pretty hoppin, but probably also not a sellout. So, I think there's certainly some inconsistency but I would prefer to see bigger crowds at some of the shows. As a live act, THS is so good that it's really disappointing that they aren't drawing more people.

I'm coming in from Vancouver for Riot Fest and just saw this show announced. I am also looking for two tickets. Please let me know if anyone has any they're willing to part with.

As one of the aforementioned Canadian friends, I have to say that I am excited for Phoenix. The Vegas show had great energy and I'm sure it'll carry through.

This show was fantastic -- a great set, met some cool people up at the front, and the band sounded great... even when the lights went out. Repeatedly. Beyond that, what happens in Vegas stays in vegas?

Hey, I'm the Spencer from the Portland soundcheck jam. We arrived and they weren't quite ready to soundcheck yet so we hung out with Craig and Galen and talked about Prince, writing out lyrics, and buying acid at the Thunderbird (of Stevie Nix fame). Steve dropped by for a while so that we could collectively gripe about clementines with seeds, mealy apples, and gritty pears. Rock and roll lifestyle, no? Anyway, then it was time to rock. We got to watch them play through Oaks, On With the Business, and their cover of Deer Tick's Easy during soundcheck. The first two didn't make it into that night's set but I'm a big Deer Tick fan so this was a treat. Then Craig called me up. Steve exclaimed that it would be a triple guitar attack, I made an Iron Maiden reference, and Galen insisted that he's the Steve Harris of the band. I got to borrow Craig's tele and one of Tad's amps so that we could play Banging Camp. I had to get Tad to give me a quick lesson on the bridge (which I fumbled through regardless) and then he told me to start it off. I didn't manage to relax enough to rock out like Michael but overall, like all the other pledgers, I had an awesome time. Video is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=js9hUJ3jq6oWe followed them through the Seattle and Vancouver shows as well and had a blast. We got to chat with Craig a couple more times and the whole band were really friendly and welcoming. A really excellent experience.

Thanks for the review and the pictures. I've been listening to THS for about a year and a half now and this was the first time I've seen them. I was front row but on the other side of the stage and it was a blast. I'm trying to work out plans to go see them in the fall and I can't decide whether to do a quick trip to Montreal or a weekend in Chicago..
Also, I'm still thrilled that they played Barfruit Blues.
