Just a few words of wisdom from Operation Ivy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyNEBSsd3GwThere's a war going down between my brothers tonight, I don't want no war going down, going down tonight. Stop this war Stop this war Civilization? Ha! I call it as I see it. I call it bullshit, you know, I still cannot believe it Our evolution now has gone the way of hate A world evolved resolved in this stupid fate Stop this war Stop this war All so different yeah, I say we're all the same All caught, you know, in the division game. Self destruction fast impending like a bullet. No one can stop it, once it's fired, no one can control it. Stop this war Stop this war A final word, wait it's not a call to action We ain't no sect, no, this ain't no fucking faction. Unity, unity, unity you've heard it all before. This time it's not exclusive - we want to stop a war. Stop this war Stop this war Ain't nothing wrong with another unity song Ain't nothing wrong with another unity song Ain't nothing wrong Ain't nothing wrong Ain't nothing wrong Ain't nothing wrong with a unity song Stop this war Stop this war Unity, as one stand together Unity, evolution's gonna come [x4] Jus' sayin' P.S. If the kids are united (clap clap), they will never be divided.

A positive about this that everyone can agree on is that the recordings from these shows will probably be the best THS tapes out there. DMB tapers are as good as they get.

since when did the fanbase a band attracts have anything to do with the music said band produces? they have for 15+ years been the premier touring act all across the globe, and have included some of the best musicians at their respective musicians that are living. sure they attract the frat bro douchebags, but they are still the one of, if not THE tightest band around. carter beauford alone is the best lving drummer around, he's a mindblowing machine that can do anything and read anyone. "the premier touring act all across the globe" Bollocks - last time they toured in Europe they were playing smaller venues than THS - I think you are confusing "The globe" with just the USA, they are relatively unknown outside the US.

Funk all of this drama.
Good for my favorite band for landing a big opening gig. I hope it helps them get the massive exposure they deserve.

DMB headlined Blues and Roots Festival here a few years ago the trick is they always get boring headliners but the rest of the bands are great oh and this made the Onion AV club.....

Not in England. Ive read that many places. they just never seemed to take off there. correct. they're nobody here. the average man on the street wouldn't have a clue who they were. i heard some of their music during my time in the states and it wasn't great, but then it's not the kind of music i'd listen to anyway. he's the only one of these types of performers whose fans i've seen getting such virulent hate from so many quarters. there's other similarly mediocre aor singers whose fanbases don't seem to have nearly so much stigma attached, like ben harper or jack johnson. and yet from what i can tell this dave matthews character really isn't so bad, once you overlook his boring music.

correct. they're nobody here. the average man on the street wouldn't have a clue who they were. Well, not quite 'nobody'. I'd say they they just don't bother over here as they really don't have to - they are so big at home. I saw Dave and Tim Reynolds from row three in Manchester in 2007 and that was really rather special. Then DMB announced a show at Wembley Arena which sold out in stupid quick time. Great to see the full band over here and the gig was amazing. Seems they had a fine time playing round Europe too and it would be nice to see them back... ooh, look they are supporting Springsteen in Hyde Park in June. THS on the bill too would be excellent...

fair enough, but they don't really get much media coverage and i'd still argue that the average man on the street here wouldn't have a clue who they are. they're one of those bands who can sell tickets pretty much entirely on their overseas reputation, so i'd have thought that if they played anywhere outside london they'd be in much smaller venues.

i'm not sure how big they are here... Australians love medicore chilled out 'blues and roots' like John Butler (wait, he's aussie...) and Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz so i think he's big... basically anything you can surf and get stoned to is loved here Springsteen isn't as huge as he is in the states, tho.. i mean he's still huge but there are people who don't like him 'cause he's too earnest or something get me out of here!

They've just never really bothered to promote themselves over here. Your average man in the street would probably hate them. Good . They sell tickets to the already converted - and there's enough of them to fill eg Wembley Arena. This is true. They've just announced a Euro dates around the Hyde park thing and are not bothering to play UK outside of London. Brixton Academy though. Excellent

Good . i think the average man on the street would probably like them to a fairly depressing degree, given the average man on the street's love for the likes of keane and snow patrol. i hate you, average man on the street. *narrows eyes*
