Upstairs is all seated. Downstairs is all standing. That's the way it is.

Well, I've been there quite a bit ... and the upstairs is bleachers-style seating. I'm pretty sure health and safety regs would forbid standing there. I really don't think I'm wrong about this.

By the way ... some other places for those getting to Camden early. 1/ If you like ice cream ... Marine Ices, a couple of minutes' walk north of the Roundhouse. Best ice cream in London. Reasonable, though unspectacular Italian food, too. 2/ If you like mussels ... Belgo Noord, almost opposite the Roundhouse. 3/ If you like kebabs ... The Marathon Kebab Bar. Legendary rock'n'roll kebaberie. If such a thing exists. 4/ Pubs ... most of the pubs on Chalk Farm Road are okay. Have suggested a couple upthread.

Upstairs at the Roundhouse has its disadvantages. For a start, there is a sequence of pillars that run around the perimeter of the ground floor - but in front of the circle. But I'm genuinely puzzled by circle standing - maybe they've rearranged the venue, though I heard no reports of that after the Electric Proms shows ...
However, one advantage of it being round is that you are never too far from the stage. It's a good venue, with a good atmosphere and tons of bars. Takes an age to get out though.

Ah fuck it. I just went on seetickets and they had tickets available for box office collection for the main standing area.
If anyone else with a level 2 ticket fancies doing that then they should probably do it now.

The Enterprise and the Lock Tavern are nice pubs on Chalk Farm Road. There are nice pubs walking up Haverstock Hill, too. And in Primrose Hill (the other side of the railway tracks from the Roundhouse).
