Ok the more I think about this song the more I love it. Did anyone else hear: She said if heaven's hypothetical and if the sins keep you warm The last time I listened to it I heard the same thing but wasn't quite sure.

I love, love, love how Craig sounds in this. He's really improved as a singer. Agreed!

No matter what the theme is people can apply their personal experiences to it to relate. I don't do drugs either, but the message still rings true. It's all about that one sweet, fleeting feeling.

Missed a few b-sides and couldn't get it to recognize my spelling of Resurrection. I swear I was spelling it right...

Goin on a Hike HAS to be on this record. It's too good of a song not to be. Makes the most sense for it to be "Rock Problems", rock referring to both the canyon/mountain and the rock club/ being in a rock band lines at the end of the song. It wouldn't be the end of the world for me if Goin' on a Hike weren't on the album. I love the song, but wondered how it would fit on a THS record. I would love to see it as a bonus track, as I really want to hear a studio version. That being said, I think you have a good point about the possibility of Rock Problems being the same song.

Bummer, won't be able to go out of town that weekend (plus the cost is outrageous). Looks like a really great lineup though, I hope they add a Seattle club date.

If you can't find the creator, the band can contact Facebook via the "Report Page" function. Facebook won't tell you who registered the page, but they will allow the band to start another page and transfer all the old fans to the new official page. Then they will delete the old one. I went through the same thing with my business.

The thing I love most about this band is exemplified in how different everyone's list is.

For the record, I hold the opinion that The Gaslight Anthem are good band. They don't claim to be re-inventing a style of music, just writing their own chapter (actually took those words from a KEXP interview with the lead singer that I was just listening to)
2009 albums that I enjoyed in no particular order (though loosely based on iTunes plays):
Lucero - 1372 Overton Park The Mountain Goats - The Life of the World to Come Franz Nicolay - Major General Frank Turner - Poetry of the Deed Thrice - Beggars Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Norfolk - The 71 Functions of Consciousness Wilco - Wilco (The Album) Throw Me The Statue - Creaturesque Maybeshewill - Sing the Word Hope in Four-Part Harmony The Hold Steady - A Positive Rage The Gaslight Anthem - Live at Park Ave EP Grand Archives - Keep in Mind Frankenstein
I need to check out a bunch more of the albums listed...

I had a minor snafu getting in - turns out they weren't having any of the "well I got the code from a friend who isn't going to make it" business. Luckily they had my name and number on the entry list (but still couldn't explain to me why I never got the text in the first place). Was slightly disappointed by the crowd, as other have mentioned. However, it was still a good show (I would have liked to have been drinking some classic NW brews instead of SoCo though).
To me it seemed like Craig was a little bummed out on the corporate bullshit. As mentioned above, there was no "so much joy" and the set list was catered to the extremely casual fan. My girlfriend (who had never seen them) asked me before the show which song I would want to hear most and I told her either Stevie Nix or Resurrection, but unfortunately we got neither.
Highlights for me? Free drinks are always nice. Yeah Sapphire hit me harder than many of the other songs...just one of those nights I suppose. Craig sarcastically mouthing "business" and making quotations with his hands at the end of Sequestered makes me smile too. Ultimately, I am anxiously awaiting their return to Seattle with a deeper set list and more beer.
edit: Totally forgot, this was the first time I had heard Heaven is Whenever!! I've heard 3 other new songs, but not Heaven. Blew me away, I loved it.

I am really excited about this...will have to go back and re-read the book (although I think Killing Yourself to Live would be a much more entertaining movie!)

I was lucky enough to get a code from the generous cre618 (thanks again!), but I am wondering if anyone who requested that their ticket be EMAILED ever got a confirmation? Seems that most everyone here who got a code were people that chose the text message option?

Frank opened, and I believe he started around an hour after the doors opened. Doors were at 7, we got there around 8:30 or 8:45 and he was just finishing. Then the Loved Ones played, and Murder By Death!

Not exactly hard-hitting news here, but at the Gaslight Anthem show in Seattle last night they threw a few C. Finn lyrics into the mix. After the 2nd chorus in "Old White Lincoln" Brian started singing
"You don't have to deal with the dealers, let your boyfriend deal with the dealers / There's always other boys, there's always other boyfriends"
Not sure if this is a regular occurrence, it was my first time seeing Gaslight. I was hoping Gaslight would be opening for THS this fall, but The Loved Ones, Murder By Death, and Frank Turner made it a great show.

Usually "Stuck Between Stations."
And I like Klosterman's description of the band (or at least, Separation Sunday) - "Playing this album is like reading a novel about Catholicism during the soundcheck before an AC/DC concert."
