I am really excited about this...will have to go back and re-read the book (although I think Killing Yourself to Live would be a much more entertaining movie!)

Not read the book (sounds like I should though) but if this works out it could be Dazed & Confused for the 80s!
This is a good thing as I frickin love Dazed & Confused!

craig is a genius writer, im glad to see the guys branching out into different types of creative media. being in a band touring constantly is not built to last. its built to kill. im sure the movie will be amazing. and motley wins hands down in a street fight. those guys were hoods dressed as chicks high on coke. that's nothin to fuck with...

it's something he's talked about before, and writing is something which is quite easily compatible with a musician's lifestyle. didn't stop nick cave, did it?
and could you remind me which of their albums DID knock the charts dead? exactly.

i think you may have a slightly warped idea of what people's motivation to make music actually is. you'd think if it was just about "the dream" of megabucks and never worrying about anything, craig would have quit already (in fact, smart enough that he wouldn't have formed a band in the first place if that was his priority). i mean, he's been doing it for 15 years and it's only fairly recently he's even made a living out of it. it's not a dream, it's real.

but i digress. my main point was that this is something which can easily go alongside his music without it really being affected, so speculation that it signals his retirement is kind of premature.

well, it earns him enough to eat. as far as i'm aware craig doesn't have a day job.
