I got my cd! Thank you nation87!! Funnily enough, although I am familiar with most of the bands, I have literally never heard ANY of the 18 tracks on the cd... which probably doesn't say a lot for my musical knowledge... Am listening to it right now, thank you so much ;D no prob! seeing as how i have never posted much, i wasn't able to figure out the musical tastes of my giftee like some of you were probably able to do, so it was a shot in the dark. i basically just threw some stuff on there from bands i am into, and a few 90's tracks snuck in as well. i am HAPPY that you haven't heard any of the songs. that was the goal.

I just got mine today. Thanks, Camie! I'm particularly excited about the inclusion of wizard rock, which I've seen you mention around here but haven't actually heard before.

I have been listening to it and it's making me very happy ;D There's loads of stuff that's new to me on that cd too, and Marry Me and For Boston sneaking on in the middle is always a highlight, ha ha

thanks so much shenelle ... i really like it.
shenelle made a serious effort that started with the pretty black ribbon wrapping and very creative artwork including little jewels on the jewel box.
a clever mix of 21 songs including the last one "the beginning after the end" by stars ... i am taking it as a command to play the cd again.

I am glad you liked it! I pulled out of my craft box, I never have a good reason to play in it anymore and this seemed like one!
Also, thanks jerseymike, I got yours in the mail the other day, and was so stoked when it started off with the muppet show!

Got ya emily... let me know what you like, cause if you want more, I have permission from most of the artists (that I am buds with) on there to share freely.

My recipient got mine, so I can share the tracklisting now, for those who care to gander. I present:
There by the Grace of...
Defrost: Christopher Plunder The Cripple and the Starfish: Antony and the Johnsons In the Backseat: Arcade Fire Joga: Bjork What I Think She Sees: Del Amitri Let's Go Away For A While: The Beach Boys Yankee Bayonet: The Decemberists Metropolis: Dan Sartain Cactus: David Bowie The Galliard: Edin Karamazov (early modern lute! Wooooo) Diablo Rojo: Rodrigo y Gabriela Somethin' Hot: The Afghan Whigs Hot Gossip: Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Concrete Schoolyard: Jurassic Five The Stations: The Gutter Twins Broken Boy Soldier: The Raconteurs That Man I Shot: Drive-By Truckers The Ascent of Stan: Ben Folds
The trajectory of this was mellow-country/folk-partaaaysexy-rock. I wasn't entirely satisfied with it, but I am pleased that this mix had a lute on it.
