I didn't see one already made, so let's continue this from the old board.
Recently watched American History X. That film is goddamn brutal.

Over my Thanksgiving break, saw Quantum of Solace, Bolt, & Four Christmasses. QoS - I didn't mind it too much, but I felt like it was too sequel-y and not awesomely Bond. Bolt - cute kid movie, not better than Wall-E. Four Christmasses - ehhh, it was alright. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go see it a second time.
Also watched A Knight's Tale, Grease, & Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day. AKT - Heath Ledger! I like it, because it totally modernises the middle ages. Grease - CLASSIS. MPLFAD - It was really cute and sweet. It covers the social side of the war.

I recently saw Do the Right Thing and Stepmom. One rang pretty deep, and the other made me just cry like a baby.
Christmas on Mars and The Great Race are on deck.
AND NETFLIX JUST ANNOUNCED STREAMING TO MACS....that made my day.

I just watched 'Sukiyaki Western Django' the other night as was COMPLETELY blown away. At first I was a little concerned with the clear cut divisions between the samurai conventions and the western conventions but Miike did an amazing job bringing them together seamlessly while allowing them to exist independently of each other. I know it sounds confusing but it really needs to be seen.
Anyway the film was bloody, violent, emotional and touching. I can't say enough great things about it.

That film is goddamn brutal. i was watching the celtics highlights last night, and it showed the last time we played the pacers, when paul pierce landed on some guys head going for the ball and the guys 2 front teeth got smashed into pieces on the court. it reminded me of that movie, shit was grosse.

i just watched "the strangers" last night....it was pretty good. i thought the strangers cashed in too much on the cheap thrills. the magic wears off after the first 50 times the bad guy is right behind the curtain, or just outside the doorway.

I thought "The Strangers" was one of the best horror movies I've seen in the last 10+ years. I didn't it full of cheap thrills at all, instead touched the bases of everything I find creepy (ie. masks, house in the woods, home invasion, etc.). I hate Liv Tyler, but the movie itself was made me pretty jumpy and had a cool soundtrack to boot.

Over the last two weeks: - Pineapple Express - excellent, but I think I smoked too much while watching...
- Old School - I dread to think how many times I've seen this, but all I'll say is 'Fill it up again!'
- Zack and Miri make a porno - what can ya say it's another great Kevin Smith film, and educational too. I for one was unfamiliar with a 'Dutch Rudder'.
- Burn After Reading - another Coen brothers classic, great work from all involved, very quirky very funny.
- Knocked Up - continuing in a Seth Rogan direction I was pleasantly surprised by this (considering how much I hated the initial premise)
I need to get out more! ;D
