As for the tat that started this off, I like it, but mostly i like the little scratch right above it. makes me think of Holly. Yikes! I just thought that was leftover gunk from where the tape was.

I am still debating whether or not to get the logo on the inside of my right arm. Mine is on the inside of my Left Arm... We can totally be twinsies!! Also, Hola New Board.

I've already decided I'm getting that emblem as a tattoo, but first I need to think of a good location, then I need to wait at least 3 months to really love that location. I curently have one tattoo, and it was a 2 year process for that one.
Right now I'm between the right arm on the forearm (which would rule out polos at work for the rest of ever) the top right of my back top of the shoulder (which may get painfull with all that bone there and I wont be able to see it directly) and spread over my right shoulder and chest (which again may get painful from bones)

My Plus Sign is Green and the rest is black. Here's a pic: Red would be pretty sweet, too. Good luck, I'm sure there are a bunch of good artists out there in Cali. Also, Laura, your's looks amazing. and I really don't consider the symbol a "Band Tattoo" because you can explain what it is to people and never even mention the band at all.... but I always do anyway.

That was done really well. Q: What body part should guys get tattoos on? Preferably not somewhere really visible, because my parents flipped and didn't talk to my sister for about 6months when they saw hers (on her wrist) I would say upper bicep. God, how old was your sister?

Ignoring WD's comment... That's gotta be one of the hottest pics I've seen. Like, Shirley Manson hot. Like, hotter than p0rn. I second that remark I was holding this in, but I also agree with them.

I personally like portraits, and I think that symbol would incorporate well to any style. Putting it on a sock looks better than sleeving it I think, otherwise a quarter sleeve for the ladies or a chest piece for dudes.

haha, thanks for all the 'thats hott' comments... lol, i didnt get the tattoo for that, at all, but its a welcomed side bonus, haha
and as for someone saying that you can explain it without ever mentioning the band, that is exactly what i do, and its been pretty pleasant to show people that im only acquaintances with, and immediately they recognize the symbol and i find a new Hold Steady fan

Were you guys saying mine is hot or Laura's is hot???
I was just skimming, but I think I know the answer and Thank You, I've been working out.
Also: Christian who works for The Decoder Ring, he worked on the symbol and the SP album artwork with Craig and Koob, wants anyone that has a SP tattoo to send him an e-mail with a nice high quality pic of the work attached. His e-mail is christian@thedecoderring.com , hit em up.

Both tats look really good. I've been thinking about a tattoo of the stay positive sign since that album came out. I will get the stay positive sign on the back of my right shoulder. I teach, so I need it to be somewhere semiprivate. Dubill, I really like your colors! Something to think about to switch it up from the way it looks on the album. I also agree that it is way more than a "band tattoo" although I see no problem with those, either. It's all about belief.

couldn't say it better myself, thats what i strive for most in my life, positivity. because to me, if you have that, you've got one hell of a base for whatever religious route you chose to go. positivity is the base for all main beliefs, so its pretty universal. (i hope this all makes sense, i've been drinking whiskey and ginger all night long so im not 100% sure this makes sense, hah)

When did the idea of body ink become so mainstream? It was almost like an overnight sensation but I cannot pinpoint the year. One day it was Hells Angels and Sailors, the next it was Missy from Kappa Kappa Psi. When did this all happen? I am sorta jealous. I'd like to get the SP on my shoulder but I am starting to get those gray hairs that grow straight up, or peek out from under my white Hanes tanktop. It just wouldnt look so cool I dont think. I was also gona go for one on my hip but pretty soon I have to go under the knife for a hip replacement, and i wouldnt want the symbol to get split up.
