Just got this bad boy yesterday. first tattoo! Also, normally, I am opposed to band tattoos, but I don't consider this a band tattoo. Its a permanent reminder that I always need to Stay Positive, and to me, The Hold Steady isn't just a band, they are a life changing experience, thats how I justify the 'band tattoo'

I think it's brilliant and not just a 'band tattoo'. Looks good.

band tattoos are good.. if that is what you like.. to each their own oh i agree, to each his own, for me? i've insanely loved other bands before, that i now no longer listen too, but with the hold steady though, they aren't just a band to me anymore, they've moved well beyond that

Anyone read Chunklet's Rock Bible yet? The bits pertaining band tattoo rules is pertinent. Is this the new "official" ink thread?

Attention women on this board who are considering getting tattos in that same place. If you are to ever, in your life, get pregnant and/or gain/lose a lot of weight, that tattoo may never look the same again. It will stretch and may or MAY NOT go back to the way it had been.
I'm not knocking your palcement, I'm just encouraging all of you to think about where it is going and how it may or may not look in 15-20 years. ESPECIALLY anywhere around your stomach.
AND, for those of you under 30 who have decided that you are not ever reproducing, YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO KNOW THAT.
I'm not being shitty or mean, I'm being honest and I would really like you to think about these things. Because I care enough about you to not want you with some formless blob of crap on your body forever. Tattoos are permananet.
XO WD

That was done really well. Q: What body part should guys get tattoos on? Preferably not somewhere really visible, because my parents flipped and didn't talk to my sister for about 6months when they saw hers (on her wrist)

I am still debating whether or not to get the logo on the inside of my right arm. I currently have a tattoo on the outside that i got for my Mom when she passed away. I never thought id want to put anything near that, but i think the SP logo would work very nicely as a reminder for me to not only remember my mom but remember the good and not the sadness.

I think the stomach would probably apply to men as well, although it isn't quite as extreme. Any extra squishy part of your body is not necessarily a good idea, depending on who you are.

My son who is pretty astute, was walking with me in the mall one day. We stopped into a head shop to look at some T's. Anyway the middle aged woman behind the counter had a rose on her prominent breast. We both could see it. When we left he laughed and said 'thats gonna be a longstem soon"
As for the tat that started this off, I like it, but mostly i like the little scratch right above it. makes me think of Holly.
