Hi...my first post here.
Recently became a big THS fan as a result of the tour with DBT.
I'm in Georgia, and I'm considering flying out for the night to see THS in St. Louis on 4/6. I don't see any posts about the show on here, so I've got a few questions:
1. I see that the venue's on a college campus. I'd like to make sure it isn't some sort of abbreviated show before I fly out there. 2. Anyone on here going to the show? I'd be flying up by myself, so I wouldn't mind hanging out with some THS fans while I'm there.
Thanks!

It's a real (full-length) show, with The War on Drugs opening. Keep in mind that it's a dry venue, though, college campus and all.
I'll be there with a quartet of bodyguards and I know at least one other person who will be there and hopefully one more.
I have heard it's sold out, but my friends believe it will be possible to get a ticket out front. We can always resort to intimidation.
PM me with your info if you decide to take the plunge, and I'll let you know the pre-game plan (once there is one).

The majority of the crowd was there for DBT, but there were plenty of DBT fans who after the show said that THS kicked DBT's ass (for that night, at least). So THS acquired a lot of new fans that night.

I'm looking into a pre-game solution, but might not know until the day of/day before. Watch this space.
The venue is DRY. Repeat, the venue is DRY. It's on campus and likely to be pretty small.

So I'm new to this board, but I'm a huge Hold Steady fan and would love to offer any help needed. I work at the Gargoyle, the student-run venue at WashU. I'm not entirely sure that the show is sold out, but if you get there early, we always save 50-100 tix for the door. The venue is pretty small (500 limit, 600 if we can get get it past the security staff the school forces us to hire), but I'm all the more excited because of the small size. Unfortunately we are dry, but our school is just a few blocks down from the Delmar Loop, which has some cool bars. Hope to see you there.

and I don't know when THS is supposed to go on, but our curfew is midnight, so I'm hopeful for a long show.

ltalexander, two questions:
1. Got any favorite bars? Food and a full bar would be the best.
2. WHERE CAN I GET ONE OF THOSE POSTERS? PLEASE GIVE ME ONE OF THOSE POSTERS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Thanks!
PS - Welcome!

Cicero's has decent food and and a pretty large beer selection. Blueberry Hill is pretty good too, with the added bonus of being Chuck Berry's bar/restaurant.
Glad you guys dig the poster. It's been my little pet project. I didn't have time to screen print them as I had hoped, so they're just printed from the computer. I'll see if we can have a few extra at the show, and if not, I'll just post the pdf after it's over/I'll let you all know when I do screen print these sometime down the road.

We'll help defray costs, I'm sure. Ok...so...FULL BAR at the aforementioned places? Very important.

Yeah full bar at both. Also at Brandt's and Riddle's, which are both good too.
You shouldn't have a problem finding alcohol on the Loop.
