Been sitting on this one for 5 days to see how it played out ... this is the mysterious Richmond VA date that was on the calendar, then off, now back on: XL102 Chili Cook Off 2014We can play Sesame Street's "Which One Is Not like The Other?" with the six bands officially announced today :: The Orwells Kongos The Hold Steady A Day To Remember Panic At The Disco Seether The event will be held at Richmond's NASCAR track. I will spare everybody the link to the radio station's Facebook page the day THS was announced because the opinions of close-minded knuckle-dragging tools are a wormhole no one needs to go down. Summary: Papa Roach rules, Shinedown rocks, Fall Out Boy is still awesome, and the radio station is weak because they can't get Imagine Dragons to headline this event. That being said, I am sure the weather here in Virginia will be beautiful that week - always is.

Rich, that was one of more Neanderthal comments sections I've read. Good summary too. "IMAGINE DRAGONS GOOD! NEW MUSIC BAD! Oh shit... wait..."

Come to think of it, people all over the place have been brutal towards THS in comments section lately. This, BKN Vegas, the band's own facebook page... wtf...

I think it is just the times we live in. When one knows they can be anonymous and there is no consequence or retaliation, it easy to feel 10 foot tall and bulletproof.

i just bought a ticket. Rich: I'm looking at it like going to a UVa game in College Park or something. Sometimes, you have to brave unfriendly terrain to support your team.

I can't believe I'm still considering this show. Me too, but 18 bucks for that show ain't bad, plus chili. I'm looking hard at it- 3 hours to Richmond, but I'm going to see the guys in Cinci a few days after this show... And I'm still torn about the DC show. I'm spoiled for choice.

I know I'm going to see them in Buffalo and Indianapolis in April, too. I'm also torn on the Cincinnati and Detroit shows, since I live about 3 hours from both. These are problems I actually enjoy having, haha.

"unfriendly terrain" is a nice way to put it. I guess this will be the closest I will ever get to a NASCAR track but I am not ready to declare "in" yet. I had other things penciled on the calendar for that weekend before this was announced.

I was rather hoping that Phils fan can send Susan to England for the full tour at the start of May, so she might be over-stretched to go VA.
(Maybe we can send a postcard or something).

I have seen THS play in a small bar, a big bar, a street, a park, an amphitheatre, and a couple recording studios.
Today I will see them play at a NASCAR track.
Pretty sure not even Brendan can make that last claim.
Who's with me? (Besides Charlie)

#BrendanEarly apparently applies to getting in line for shows but not for getting up early enough to assign a hashtag to this afternoon's Scene report from the NASCAR track / Chilifest.
May I humbly suggest a few?
#Seetherapolooza #PanicAtTheChilloutTent #IfYouAin'tRubbin'YouAin'tListening #IHopeMyLugnutsDidn'tFrightenYou #TheKidThatWentDownIsn'tDeadHeJustCan'tFindHisEyeliner
... or my favorite, simply:
#CaleYarborough
