Anybody else get a mis-pressed copy of this at the Bloomington show? Mine just jumps and skips like crazy but isn't scratched. Yes, from UofI though. CD didn't play at all in one player, took several tries in another, has noise on some tracks, and finally skips. Solutions I may try - 1) get a good rip on my pc and make my own CD 2) exchange at Best Buy etc w/o reciept 3) contact Vagrant? DVD rocks though!

i have the same problem with the disc i bought today at my local! doesn't play in 2 of 3 players and some of the tracks skip with the one that does read it... major bummer to be sure, but even more so since i had reason to celebrate today and spinning a brand new THS disc seemed the perfect treat... oh well! i want to bring it in tomorrow for an exchange... or should i worry that the others will be that way too??

Ha. Is that Fucked Up's Pink Eyes hugging and kissing Franz, before the First Ave. show, on the DVD? What the fuzz? I haven't bought the DVD yet (broke) but my money's on it being Dillinger Four's Paddy Costello. No, DEFINITELY not Costello. (Well, maybe not quite "DEFINITELY," but I'm pretty sure...! Unless I always thought that he was somebody other than he really is, which I guess could be...)

Love the live album. Great, full sound. I was at the show the night before at the Metro, and this is exactly how I remember them sounding. Great stuff.
The DVD is really cool. I love that they didn't edit it with the "will the band break up? will the band make it?" type of contrived drama that so many indie rock documentaries have. More of a postive focus, hence the title.
But I have to say, the dudes look like hell. Everyone is 20 pounds lighter today and much more youthful. The sound is also much tighter now. There might be something to a tourbus, Q, Dusty and semi-clean living....

My amazon.com copy plays the first dozen or so tracks, then starts skipping, then gives the "bad disk" message and ejects on my car player. I have a copy from Vagrant coming as well, maybe better luck with that one.

As much as I generally dislike Pitchfork, I'd agree with the review. I thought the DVD was very disappointing--tour documentaries are all well and good, but 1)more full songs and 2)better sound quality would've been great.
That said, it's really, really great to finally have a high-quality live recording. I just wish my CD worked...I had to torrent it because I got a defective, but half the songs start around the second verse. Vagrant's sending me another one, hopefully that comes soon.

I just got an email (and I do mean 'just got it') saying my pre-order had shipped.
This is not a diss of the band but the release, the artwork (It's poor, be honest), the download cock up, the bad pressings, the late shipping has all smacked of mis-management (or shite management) on behalf of the label. A band on the cusp of what THS are on the cusp of deserve better treatment. A well oiled machine (dare I say it major) or even just a zealous 'can do' team of first time tryers wouldn't have left the hardcore feeling a bit flat round a release like this.
And I say this as someone who was chuffed when the band signed with Vagrant.
The good thing is, In 3 weeks this wont matter a jot to anyone discovering the record. But when you're in the business of show, opening nights are a big freakin' deal.

It really fucking pisses me off that iTunes has tracks names: "Stuck Between Stairs" "Adderall" and "Hoodrat" On top of everything you just stated.

I'm pretty sure the whole point of releasing this was to make me sick because I still haven't heard them play You Can Make Him Like You live.

I was one of the lucky ones! My preorder came today, and nothing's wrong at all! Still need to watch the DVD and hear the live album, but I just heard both the new tracks, and are pretty preoccupied listening to them... THEY'RE AWESOME! Hope everyone else has the same luck from now on! Oh, and if I ever play a show in a band again, I know what shirt I'm wearing!
