Just the usual. Oatmeal, not out of a disgusting, chemical/preservative filled package, but organic, scooped out of the bin at the co-op, and cooked with rice milk and water, on the stove, today with strawberry jam, using the heat of the burner to warm up my juice just enough so that the chill isn't such a shock after the warmth of the oatmeal.
Mmmmmm.
XO WD

My breakfast was boring, so I shall tell you about some good breakfasts I've had in my time! A lot were in America. America is good at breakfast. Santa Monica, CA - I was 12, and the restaurant had waiters who looked like film stars. I'm sure they were all wannabe actors, given the location. I had two waffles which were mounded with fresh fruit and cream. They were just perfect. And later I had a fruit smoothie - strawberry, with coconut shaved on top. Smoothie bars were everywhere in California, it seemed, but they hadn't caught on in the UK, so it was an exciting novelty. www.loumitchellsrestaurant.com/ - Lou Mitchell's in Chicago. I've had breakfast there in 2006 and 2007, and it was ace both times. The first time I got a skillet of pancakes which was equivalent to about 12 scotch pancakes, I think, in serving (for Brits who want a comparison). My friend got a panful of eggs and a plate of bacon. We shared our dishes, and our waitress wisecracked with this easy Chicago warmth. The next year I went back alone. It was pouring with rain and I sat at the counter next to a suit who hoovered up the free coffee refills. I had this French toast sandwich filled with turkey and cheese. It was not like anything you'd be served in this country, and I covered it in syrup and it was amazing. The first breakfast my boyfriend cooked for me featured poached eggs. He had to buy the rings specially. Gotta love a man who'll go to that kind of effort. There's a greasy spoon next to Manchester train station. I've had snacks from there a fair bit. One night I went over to Manchester with a newly-out friend to hit Canal St with another friend of mine. The next morning I got a sausage sandwich from that place and it tasted SO GOOD. Nothing like fried meat in bread after a night partying. I have many more breakfast memories...

Some delicious coffee and , unfortunately, oatmeal out of a disgusting, chemical/preservative filled package. I also had some sun brewed tea on the way in to work which was stellar.

i think thats called a monte cristo I always thought it had to be fried to be considered a monte cristo. Than again that might just be the northeast variation of it. Either way it sounds like a delicious breakfast!

] I'm gonna send you some of the good stuff . . . XO WD I used to live close to an amazing organic store called 'The Great Pumpkin' that had some of the bestest oatmeal ever. Now that I've moved the only thing close to that is a creepy health food store staffed by some elitist snobs who critique every purchase you make. I think all this talk of oatmeal will result in a weekend trip to get the good stuff!

Today was marshmallow mateys and coffee.
A good day is blueberry pancakes or breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, veggies, and salami.

Coffee. Or sugar-free Red Bull. Only. Ever. No food until dinner.
Also, "breakfast" must be consumed while watching CNN.
