Gonna try to get tickets for The Stone Pony show if I can find someone to go with me. Anytime I don't have to pay $20 to get a train into the city for a show is a huge plus for me, even if it does rain.

Apparently the Huntington pre-sale decided to start working at some point. Going to both.

I'd love to see this but I dunno if I can swing $35 plus fees The actual ticket price is $23 with $12 added in fees. It stinks having to pay over 50% in fees, but at least you're not starting at $35 before factoring them in.

And I just realized the Stone Pony show is at 4 pm on a Friday. Too bad. I would have gone if it was later at night when I didn't have work. Guess I'm stuck waiting for more NYC dates. Sigh

In for both shows. TGA/THS show last year at The Stone Pony was a blast, even with the horrible weather.

Just saw it actually says doors are at 4pm for the Pony show. Anyone have any idea when the actual show will start? Trying to figure out if I can make it over from work in time.

Just bought tickets for both shows. Flying up from Georgia.
I've been waiting for this bill to come back around for 5 years!
EDIT: Can any of you locals help me out with trip planning? In particular, how easy would it be to take public transportation from Asbury Park to Huntington? Am I better off just renting a car?
Thanks!

If you want to take the train this page has info on NYC to Asbury Park www.divaontheshore.com/directionsToAsburyParkNJ.htmlFor NYC (Penn Station) to Huntington take the LIRR Port Jefferson Line, get off at the Huntington stop, proceed to NY Ave/route 110 turn right (north) and walk 1000 yards to the trolley pick up tents. The Paramount has a Free Trolley service running night of show from 5:00 pm ’til 2:00 am. Trolleys are free of charge for anyone who wants to park at the Huntington train station and come into the village. The trolleys run from 5:00 pm until 2:00 am with the last pick up at 1:45 am so feel free to stay in town after the show! Simply park in the Huntington Railroad North Rail Lot located on the corner of Church Street and New York Avenue. Look for The Paramount tent where Trolleys will be waiting for you to take the 4-minute ride to The Paramount. - See more at: paramountny.com/get-here/#sthash.3VVq3nU7.P1IHMw2A.dpuf

I picked up tix for Huntington. In a first I decided not to be on the floor. Dont feel like making the trip and waiting on line etc. My brother says its a great place to see a show with no bad sightlines. Also DBT has a different vibe that I may not want to stand for. I opted for loge seats sec 203....the Kubler side. This will be so different. Never been to a show where I wasnt on the rail or first two rows. And Ive seen about 30 shows now.

I agree with wiredirish, train or car may be tough either way. I'd also drive and just allow plenty of time. AS far as staying in AP you have The Berkeley Carteret and Empress hotels within easy walking/crawling distance (guessing expensive this time of year though). Over the years we stayed at several different places in Ocean Grove also (10-15 min walk down boards) that were inexpensive. Don't recall the names, but there are several hotels, rooming houses and b&b places. Check chamber of commerce site maybe. See you in AP!

I havent been to Asbury since the last THS show that was inside the Pony in that winter storm......but for those making arrangements I would check beforehand because a lot of damage was done with Hurricane Sandy. The Empress was real close to the water. The Carteret or as I like to refer to it "The Overlook" should be fine. I gotta say though...not a big fan of outdoor THS shows. They are eventful, but musically I dont dig em. The exception being Castle Clinton which was just a gorgeous, magical night.

Last bit of damage is section of boardwalk getting final repair and that will be done by Memorial day. Not any real property damage other than the boards and some stores on them.

Good to hear. I remember once staying at The Bradley Motor inn to see The Blasters and Smithereens. No room was availble at the Carteret. They asked us at The Bradley if we want the 4 -8 or 24 hour stay.
