Just bought tickets for both shows. Flying up from Georgia. I've been waiting for this bill to come back around for 5 years! EDIT: Can any of you locals help me out with trip planning? In particular, how easy would it be to take public transportation from Asbury Park to Huntington? Am I better off just renting a car? Thanks! If you want to take the train this page has info on NYC to Asbury Park www.divaontheshore.com/directionsToAsburyParkNJ.htmlFor NYC (Penn Station) to Huntington take the LIRR Port Jefferson Line, get off at the Huntington stop, proceed to NY Ave/route 110 turn right (north) and walk 1000 yards to the trolley pick up tents. The Paramount has a Free Trolley service running night of show from 5:00 pm ’til 2:00 am. Trolleys are free of charge for anyone who wants to park at the Huntington train station and come into the village. The trolleys run from 5:00 pm until 2:00 am with the last pick up at 1:45 am so feel free to stay in town after the show! Simply park in the Huntington Railroad North Rail Lot located on the corner of Church Street and New York Avenue. Look for The Paramount tent where Trolleys will be waiting for you to take the 4-minute ride to The Paramount. - See more at: paramountny.com/get-here/#sthash.3VVq3nU7.P1IHMw2A.dpufThanks for this info. I'm flying in from Vancouver and going to both Asbury Park and Huntington. We're renting a car. For AP, we'll just stay at one of the two hotels within stumbling distance. I'm not sure about the Huntington show. It looks like there may be a few Holiday Inn type places south of Huntington village, but it doesn't look like there's anything walking distance. Maybe we're better off just taking the train from Manhattan, especially since my friend has never been to New York and may want to do some sightseeing Saturday (day) and Sunday. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

For Huntington, staying in NYC and taking the train is what I would do. You will have many more choices for places to stay in NYC and the Paramount's Trolley service will take you from the train station parking lot to and from the show. Paramount Trolly info

Hi there,
A couple things, as we're getting closer to flying in for these shows:
1. This pre-game at the Silverball Pinball Museum sounds interesting, but it's not clear to me if we can just show up. Anyone know? I assume our decision on whether or not to attend will be a game time decision, but I don't want to show up unannounced/unwelcomed.
2. On the threedimesdown forum it seems like lots of folks are staying at the Berkely, as are we. Anyone else?
3. Will there be a roll call of folks who will be at both shows?
See you at the shows.

You should be able to show up for the Silverball thing unannounced. DBT fans are generally very hospitable. I just booked a room at the Berkeley today. Not sure yet where I'm going to stay after the Paramount show.

From RevMatt on the DBT message boards:
HERE ARE THE DETAILS FOR THE SILVERBALL MUSEUM PRE-PARTY AND PINBALL TOURNAMENT
Time -- 1:00 to 4:00 PM
Admission -- $20.00 -- The admission price includes a wrist band that allows you to play unlimited pinball all afternoon. It also includes use of the party space. It also includes a $5.00 "Play" for a prize package. This $5.00 will be given to Nuci's Space as a donation. So far I have one prize basket that includes cd's and vinyl donated by local NJ bands like The Grip Weeds, The Smithereens and Tara Elliot and The Red Velvets.
Food and Drinks -- We are allowed to drink beer in the party space. Someone has donated beer. I am bringing a deli platter. Any food donation like pizza, soda, pretzels and cookies is welcome.
With the bracelet you can go in and out of the museum for the duration of the pre-party. You are not stuck there all afternoon. You can play pinball, eat a sandwich, then go for a swim and still return later in the afternoon. The party will end at 4:00 which is an hour before doors.
I am currently talking with the manager to see about hooking up a turntable to the museum's sound system so we can play some vinyl. If he agrees I will bring a crate of APPROPRIATE albums to play. Others can bring some vinyl as well. However, we have to keep in mind that our choice of music has to be amenable to other visitors to The Silver Ball Museum. In other words, I won't be bringing Opeth albums or Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music. But I am sure my Eddie Hinton Very Extremely Dangerous will go over well.

Hey Guys, Wondering if anyone has any info on set times or who's playing first??
Any info would be great.
I have another gang meeting later that night and the other gang is kind of a bunch of control-freaks.
Thanks in advance.

I remember the good old days and I can assure you we were always this lame. The dual band encore: Let there be Rock Adam Raised a Cain Rocking in the Free World People Who Died Grand Canyon Good enough for you? It was for me. Camie has the setlist, of course, and I'm sure she'll post it at some point. Slapped Actress was not on it. And the weather was perfect.

Oh sweet Jesus ....thanks Neil. I guess I picked the wrong show to attend. I just dont like outdoor shows as much. Never did. I would not have gone to Woodstock. Anyway tonight's venue looks really nice and I decided to try a new vantage point than crushed between a thousand kids and the band. I have a sweet spot in sec 203 (right side) with what looks to be great sight lines and a chair! Hope the boys ..all of em...bring some of what they apparently brought last night.

Yes Allielujahchick and I left early because we pretty much saw what we drove 21/2 hours for, The Hold Steady. While I have a few DBT albums I just wasn't that interested in staying and seeing them since we were both tired and hungry. As far as I'm concerned we got our monies worth.

Sorry man...wasnt a slap(ahem)...just that I would have expected that encore and stayed. Probably cause the RRMW tour was one of the great shows I have seen over my old years. I remember People Who Died as being insane....but then I was always a big Jim Carroll fan. But so we are clear, that was not a slight.
