Augustus: Please read "This Thread Will Save Your Life."
One would hope that the shirts are not the same the numbered ones that you've seen at shows, as those shirts are FREE. One would hope that no numbers are misappropriated. (In particular for me, 43, 44 and 1.) I may be getting old and I may be all domestic and settled, but I'd hate to see someone else with our shirts/numbers. Jus' sayin'. XO WD

If anyone pledges for the acoustic or electric shows at their house, let us know if we can come party with you.

has anyone heard any info or leak on what the covers on the EP might be? This was posted recently and another picture was titled "Telegram Sam" looking forward to hearing Craig sing "I ain't no square with my corkscrew hair"

This certainly kicked off some debate.
I'm happy for the release, and think the more far out (and expensive) stuff offered, is totally ok. It's also nice of them to add a contribtion to Jersey Mike's kids. As many has pointed out: They didn't have to.
I can see why some people feel that Unified Scene is getting... taken away from it's original form. But the community exists regardsless of laminated cards. To me, living in Norway, this message board IS the Unified Scene. That won't change.

so, that photo got me all excited and start hearing it in my head with craig's voice. but I can't remember the second verse; so I google, like one does. and the first hit is a billy ray cyrus song. and I was momentarily fascinated by the idea that billy ray cyrus might have covered a Clash song. he did not. but now I can't unhear that song or unsee the mullet. and i'm imagining mullet craig covering billy ray cyrus. just thought I would share the rabbithole I jumped down.

I know people around here know some of the band members....maybe you could send them a list of shirts that HAVE numbers so those numbers arent used on new shirts.

If anyone pledges for the acoustic or electric shows at their house, let us know if we can come party with you. YES!! I would definitely pay for that. I saw Franz Nicolay in a room with about 6 other people, and that was phenomenal, he was so nice, lent me his jacket and just chatted to everyone, it was great. So if I could even see a portion of THS in the same fashion, I don't think that could be topped. I'm free to die happy after that.

I thought it would be a totally new and unrelated design to be honest. Even so, they'll be a very limited run and I'll be extremely proud to wear mine at gigs. It doesn't mean anything less to me, it still says 'I love The Hold Steady to bits, and this is my shirt to prove it.'

I know that I've gone back a couple or more times to pledge again, not least because I completely trust my favourite band to do the right thing with all of this.
After all, when I've invested time money and effort in the band previously it has always been repaid several times over by the band themselves and the community of people around them. I've no reason whatsoever to think that is ever likely to change.
I could just do with knowing when to book flights for the gigs in February...

I was just offering a compromising solution if the situation were true. Like I might have said to Lincoln "Mr. President why dont you hang out in the pit tonigh instead of this cramped box"

Damn, I step away for a minute and look what happens! nah, this looks pretty cool, I'll def be getting me some of that action.
Anyone got 15 large layin around? I'll buy the beer.
Shit, I think I'll just fire up a concert on Kickstarter. $16,000 gets you front row seats for THS in my kitchen. And all the Coconut Pie you can eat. And I'll cut your hair. And you can walk my dog.

Yes. I know, thanks. But if I just put an amount in the box to pledge, it tells me I have to choose one of the "exclusives". Anyone want to explain this to me step-by-step? (I think I might have mentioned that before) Help, anyone?

delboydrums, I thought I saw a "digital EP only" pledge level early on, but like you I don't see it there anymore. If it was ever there, maybe we both imagined it. Like you the first pledge level I see is "$15, vinyl EP + Laminate" (which includes a digital download as well). I know that doesn't help and I'm sorry.

Thanks anyway! Anyone else have any ideas? I don't want vinyl, don't live in the U.S. and can't afford most of the stuff on offer, but I would like to contribute (and of course get the download!)

Somehow missed all of this until today. I missed the option to have my name in the liner notes, but I dropped the cash on a signed copy of the vinyl. I MAY go back and also grab the handwritten lyric sheet option and give the extra record to a friend... the hard part though is figuring out which song I'd want written out!

Just pledged for the vinyl. At the end of the process, PledgeMusic suggested nine other projects I "might like." One of them.....Andre Cymone!
