War Child: Heroes, to be released 16th February. There have been a few War Child albums (chariatable compilation albums), and this one involves artists covering their heroes. Beck - Bob Dylan's 'Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat'Scissor Sisters - Roxy Music's 'Do The Strand' Lily Allen ft Mick Jones - The Clash's 'Straight To Hell' Duffy - Wings' 'Live And Let Die' Elbow - U2's 'Running To Stand Still'TV On The Radio - David Bowie's 'Heroes' Hot Chip - Joy Division's 'Transmission' The Kooks - The Kinks' 'Victoria' Estelle - Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' Rufus Wainwright - Brian Wilson's 'Wonderful/Song For Children' Peaches - Iggy And The Stooges' 'Search And Destroy' The Hold Steady - Bruce Springsteen's 'Atlantic City'The Like - Elvis Costello's 'You Belong To Me' Yeah Yeah Yeahs - The Ramones' 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker' Franz Ferdinand - Blondie's 'Call Me'www.nme.com/news/lily-allen/42006I bolded the ones which look fucking amazing. (I'm sure that Hannah will love a new Elbow track!) And Franz Ferdinand do great female covers, they did Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For, 'twas great.

The reason why there are so many popular artists, like The Kooks and Lily Allen, is that the CD is charitable, and with those bigger artists it will reach a much larger audience.
It will probably get to number 1, unless Akon or TI release a record on the same day.

Besides THS & Yeah Yeah Yeah's there not much there for me, BUT I'd pay a little money to hear THS play Bruce & for that matter Bruce to play THS.
I'll buy it

80% of those bands artists I like. The other 20% I'm curious to hear them do the cover. I'll be buying the CD.

didn't they work with him on something? honestly this CD looks pretty bad with the exception of THS and maybe Rufus Wainwright He did some vocals on Cookie Mountain. I think Dave Sitek is tight with him. I imagine them hanging out in New York, watching bands I've never heard of and being all arty n shit.

Bowie and Sitek worked on Scarrlet Johannsens solo dirge. You spelt solo amazingness wrong >_> And spelt both Scarlett and Johansson wrong It almost seems that you don't like her....
