It's approaching.
But it's still taking to long.

If my landlord happens by this message board in search of the reason why I was dancing around my apartment with my wife early this morning, well, now you know why. Totally worth the wait.

gimme a break, it's not like people are downloading it from youtube. I actually was not trying to start a debate; so I'll leave it at this. It's not that hard to record songs off of youtube.

How sexy is the sound of Galen's bass?
As sexy as the tits on Tippi from The Hedrons, that's how sexy.

It's not that hard to record songs off of youtube. i guess if someone wants a shitty sounding rip of an already shitty sounding rip, then yes, they can record it off youtube. and anyone that would go to those lengths probably cares about bitrate, and will grab the track off a torrent site when it becomes available.

If you care about bitrate you'll buy the frikkin album.
In fact, if this hypothetical music downloader has any morals at all they'll buy the album, its for charity!

I will personally hunt down anyone who torrents this album.
Torrenting a charity album is so fucking dirty.

well, it certainly doesn't look good enough overall to buy a physical copy (for reasons besides being charitable).

Seriously? (You can always go to an Internet cafe if you really need it)

seriously.
when did i even hint towards "really needing" anything in this thread? if anything i've quite clearly expressed that i don't even particularly want this album for free.

The album is pretty shit, aside from THS, TVOTR, FF, YYY, and Beck. I can see why you wouldn't want it. But I just presumed that you would spend 80p on the Hold Steady track online
(I'm thinking that I may end up just buying the 6 songs that I will like, because will I ever listen to a Scissor Sisters cover?)

I heard Elbow's U2 cover - as much as I love Elbow and quite like some U2 stuff, I thought Elbow's version was shite

that's the thing with compilation albums. if they're half shit, like this one is, then if you buy them you just end up listening to the tracks you want a couple of times and then it goes in a pile with all your other mediocre compilations and not seen again until you're sorting stuff out for your next charity shop run. a consistently good compilation is an incredibly rare and precious thing. if i had a computer i might well spend 80p on the hold steady track, despite not really being a fan of the boss, but i certainly wouldn't spend 80p to download it onto a computer in an internet cafe.

Oh yeah, I forgot that you don't have a PC.
I guess there isn't much you can do, assuming you don't have a mp3 player

an mp3 player is another thing that'd be fairly pointless without a computer!

Do you use a portable CD player/walkman instead?
