Due to Hannah playing Mexican Stand-off by Elbow, I bought their album "Leaders of the Free World"... For my mum! Haha fooled ya (I still can't get into Elbow) It was two for £10 at HMV, so I got Elbow for Mother's Day and Neil Young's Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. I have no idea what the Neil Young album is like, but the artwork stood out to me more than the others;

The Positive Rage Pre-order! With shirt and buttons. Now, let's hope it comes near April 7th or I might have to buy two.

Yesterday I bought "Tim" and "Surfer Rosa" on vinyl. The week before I bought "Greetings from Asbury Park", "The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle", and Darkness On The Edge of Town" for under 15 dollars, as well as a copy of Against Me!s "Reinventing Axl Rose" and Fucked Up's "The Chemistry of Common Life". My collection is coming along quite nicely. Next purchase: an original pressing of Vs. by Mission of Burma!

Anyone heard Shallow Grave by The Tallest Man On Earth? I'm pretty much in love. He'll be in Boston in April and I'm trekking up from Maryland just to check him out! Apparently, he opened for Bon Iver a few months ago... what a lovely show that must've been. Definitely recommended for anyone who's a folk/alt-country fan

so, the public library had a clearance sale of CDs yesterday, and i went through every single damned one of them. i can usually find something i want 50 cents worth at these kinds of things. my standards aren't that high and my interests are pretty broad; so i can usually find some old-timey country or a joan baez album for my mother or, you know, something mixed in amongst the everclear, tim mcgraw, and spanish language hits of 1995. not this time. i finally decided i can't possibly have wasted all that time and bought a billy bob thornton cd hoping it would awesomely, hilarious bad. instead, it is just the usual kind of sucky. i love billy bob thornton. he shouldn't make crappy albums.
