just called the theatre...the girl told me that the only information they have is the time of the show and that all of their tickets are gone. she said if i won the tickets through a radio station I should ask them...and when I told her I got an email from Jack Daniels she said to ask them...how could they be so clueless? gahhh i dont know if this is worth the risk or not

I'm in like a Skin! And not a moment too soon, Sunday caps off two straight weeks of 6am, 12 hour shifts. Granted, Monday starts two weeks of 7am days, but fuckit, music is fuel, and I am a man with a mind to run past empty for hours on end.

Haven't heard back from JD; I'd die if I'm not at this show. Got the e-mail. I love the Hold Steady! I love Jack Daniels! I love the Unified Scene!

this is turning into quite the jam. pile on if i missed you.
now, pregame planning, as complicated by the fact we need to be at the club superearly. there are a whole strip of bars right next to the club. there are cooler bars and great restaurants elsewhere in baltimore. if everyone is in town early enough, we could head to a late afternoon meal somewhere (duda's), then join the line. thoughts?

I think a late afternoon meal is an excellent plan

brendan tells me he will be there by around 5:30. but he's a little neurotic that way. doors are at 8, and i'll probably try to get there well before 8. i'll have to coordinate with my crew going up. but maybe 7?

5:30 does seem a little silly...unless you didn't get an email. I'll probably aim for 7-7:30ish

Oh, that was a rough estimate I did not discuss with my traveling companions. This could get me in trouble.

I'd say dinner at 5:30 to make a line party by 7.
Someplace close, too. No need to jockey cars around all night, right?
What's that shellfish Mary Land is known for?
Oh yeah- KING MUTHAFUCKIN CRABS!
Where's the dope shit crab joint close by?

crabs aren't really in season until may or so. no doubt we could get some somewhere, or even revisit unified crabfest 08 at the same place. but i'm not seeing anything really close by. for cheap eats, a friend recommends this place for pubfare: www.cvptowson.com/towson.htmi'm open to other recommendations

I got a confirm, so this changes my Sunday schedule from "tentative" to "confirmed":
11:00 am: Wake up, HO'd beyond belief. 12:00 pm: Bloody Mary morning. Old Bay rim a must. 2:00 pm: Settle in for fantasy baseball draft. 5:00 pm: Power nap. Nightmare about 1st round pick tearing ACL in bizarre gardening accident. 6:00 pm: Crab cake sammich. 7:00 pm: Party on.
Note: I didn't realize I was applying for 2 "tickets". Since all of my old college friends will be gone by Sunday night, and my host probably won't want to go, I might have an extra.

In, +2 baby. Glad to see the list is so robust. That just made my night. Yes, sir. Outside of love and certain rare moments in sports that only happen once or twice in a lifetime, there is NOTHING better in life than a Hold Steady show with admission sponsored by an alcohol company. Speaking of alcohol, where and when are people drinking beforehand? I see some semi-loose eating plans, but time is of the essence here.

Hey all,
Sorry about the double post. I just this morning found out about this show, and it sounds like a tough ticket. My wife is on her way to the Rec Room this morning to see what's up. It's not looking to sunny from the posts here, so it looks like I've gotta be that guy:
Does anyone have one, two, or even three extras for the show? This would be my only chance to see them from the shows announced for this year (OK, I COULD see them open for DMB, but I'm not into that scene. One show filled with teen girls screaming "Crash!" at the top of their lungs was enough for me) and I've already got a huge bruise on my forehead for not having seen this earlier. So if you could help a guy out...
If no tix are available, does anyone no the chances of getting in without them? Rumors are that extra space will show up around game time...
Thanks for all the help. -Chris
