Haven't heard Jack from JD yet via email.
Went up to B'more Saturday night and hung out at Washington Blvd and West Camden for two hours, drank five beers, got offered heroin once, and saw no one giving away passes.
Anyone who picked up passes, did they have some sort of vehicle, or display or something?

I don't know, but I would recommend trying the Rec Room in Towson. The Recher sent out an email over the weekend saying that limited tickets were be available at the Rec Room. I'm going to give them a call and then drive up tomorrow night.

It's a given that the second I get in the car to go try to pick some up I'm going to get an email saying I'm in, right? I'm tempted to wait until Wednesday and maybe pair the trip for tix with the Titus Andronicus show at the Ottobar but I'm also scared to wait that long...

Haven't heard back from JD; I'd die if I'm not at this show.

hey, it can't be that every single person on the messageboard got unlucky or locked out. they must not have sent notifications yet, perhaps hoping that more people would show up at these mysterious promotional events. of course, given jeb's post above, perhaps they just suck at everything.
i called the recroom (part of the theatre, i think) and they are out of tickets. they said they might get more later this week and to check back.

The Portland notifications didn't go out until Wednesday for a Monday show. So tomorrow might be reasonably expected to be the day.

I hate being that guy who has never posted on this board before, but I really don't know what else to do. Just found out about this show today. Have seen them live twice, best live band in the world. Once in London 07 at Shepards Bush and then in November 07 in Lawrence, KS. Just moved to DC in January and would love to see my favorite band. So if anyone has any extras, shoot me an email kloftus5@gmail.com
Thanks
Kevin

I've got the confirmation email, but have no idea how to get down to Baltimore, where to stay, etc. for not a shitload of money. The train alone is looking to be around $160-200, which is no go right now (UNEMPLOYED).

Just got my email! So since we got this email confirmation does that absolutely guarantee me a ticket for the show? I live in Philly and plan on making the trip...but I'd like to be positive I'm getting in beforehand.

esper, the word I got for the Portland show was get there early as they do give out more tickets than the place can hold. The email is a real ticket though, and space was NOT an issue in Portland.

esper - apparently the answer is no. the tickets say entry is not guaranteed, meaning that they are giving out more passes than there are spots.
breukelen - way to plan ahead, damnit. my apartment in DC is unfortunately chock full at the moment with the bed, air mattresses and couches taken. but a couple of the crashers are maybes. i'll let you know if something frees up but DC is of course a bit of a drive from b'more. assuming you find crash-space, take the bus. it's not clean and it's not obvious, but it is about $20 each way if you buy online using greyhound webfares. i think some of the NYC-DC buses stop in Baltimore. but i could be wrong about that. I have no idea what a cab out to the Recher in Towson would cost. But surely less than the train. And maybe we could arrange to pick you up if you got in early enough.

If there is anyone who has doubts about going... I can think of one Hold Steady fan who would eagerly take a pair. I signed up but lost. Just send me a message. Thanks!

if you do not get the ticketing email direct from jack daniels, you probably need to consider this that comes directly from the voucher i was emailed:
"To get your ticket, you must present this email voucher and a photo ID as proof of age at the door, where your name will be matched to the invitation list. Only the recipient of this email voucher and one guest may be admitted."

how early are we talking here? what time should I shoot for? I guess we could always wait in line, redeem our vouchers for the tickets, and hit up a local bar!
