I saw J. Roddy Walston and the Business with Egg Babies Orchestra on my birthday last year, and had such a good time. Hold Steady + J. Roddy = super good time.

If anyone has a clue to when THS will come on in Baltimore I would appreciate the heads-up. Have to weigh this show vs. NYC vs. my job.
May the best two win!

Wayne j roddy's website lists their showtime as 8pm, but it is possible that they don't know either. franz's website seems to indicate that War on Drugs is also touring with them for this show, which if correct, would mean 2 opening bands. so, THS on around 1030 or 11? but i'm just guessing. the trickier part seems to be that even if you get a pass, you're apparently not guaranteed admission. i'm not sure what that means. surely, they won't overbook the show so badly that people get turned away at doortime. but, showing up just in time for the hold steady might be a bad idea unless you've got the ear of someone who can make sure you get in.

Also, showing up late means you miss j roddy. And you don't want to miss j roddy.

Thanks for answering a question I don't recall asking (yeah Blue Moon). I was at the Hard Rock show and there was not much of a line an hour or so before the listed time. I would think that would be plenty of time to be sure of getting in. A lot of people will sign up for this show and not go - I know I've done it. Maybe everyone will get in. Wayne

so, i just got this from the jd live people, probably only useful if you live or work in the area: I saw this email too, though the promotion also said that if you're one of the first 250 to sign up, you should get tickets, right? I do some work for the City Paper--they're hosting the ads on their website. Will try to ask around and see if folks there know anything about tix/getting in, etc.

So I'm pretty confused...though it seems like everyone else is, too. I signed up a little over a week ago online to get tickets for this. According to the rules on the site, they won't be accepting ticket requests after they've hit their limit...but now they're giving them out at bars in the area? Ugh. I live in DC, and would obviously come to Baltimore to see THS (I have done it twice before)...but I don't want to have to go to the area just to get tickets at a bar. Anyone have any further information on this show? Has anyone received a confirmation e-mail regarding their tickets? Thanks for your help...

the site said that they would send out confirmation emails a week prior to the show; so I wouldn't expect to get them just yet. the site also said that they would give out at least 250 tickets through the website. The Recher fits around 700 people, I think? So, they're definitely not giving them all away through the website.
