ah, fair enough. it's a bummer, but you'll get plenty more chances to see the hold steady, i'm sure.

It's just that they are playing the day before my birthday, so that would be the ultimate present pretty much. But I don't wanna be hungover for my exam

aye, as i said, it's a bummer. i remember when i was at school i missed a shitload of gigs i wanted to go to (after seeing bands almost every night for a month and my school letting my parents know i wasn't doing homework), but the more bands you see, the more you realise that every night you don't leave the house you're missing a good band somewhere.
i know it sucks, but try not to let it ruin your birthday. you'll at least be able to go out and get pissed with your friends after the exam, right?

..... But I don't wanna be hungover for my exam Eh? Not drinking would help you with that. It's quite easy. 10.30 finish as well. No probs.

Even if I don't drink I will be physically worn out and knackered.
I have an exam 2oth may, and then 3rd June, so some pissups will be there. But I dunno if I will drink or go out in between exam times (11 May - 3 June).
Heck, I will not drink alcohol till 3 June.
Book it.

I don't care about the bands playing it. (Fingers crossed that THS, TGA, and Modest Mouse will play)
Just a great excuse to get slaughtered with mates I haven't seen in ages.

yeah, i was just kidding around really...you're the perfect age to enjoy it, so for you i'm sure it will be ace!
in a few years, though, you might not be so excited about the idea of camping in the mud and barely getting any sleep and living off tinned rice pudding for a weekend just for the privilege of wading through tens of thousands of middle-class cunts who think they're being super-wild by getting fucked on pills and dancing around with their flaming poi as the latest crappy electropop band-de-jour drifts across a stinking field.

I saw The Rasmus, The Darkness, post-quite good Funeral For A Friend, Thursday and A at Leeds Festival. All my friends did was smoke weed all day and get wasted, then set their tents on fire on Sunday night. I think I went to bed before midnight every night wishing it would all end. It bugged me that instead of paying nearly £250 each (all told) we could have done nearly exactly the same thing for absolutely fuck-all in the woods with a stereo, and listened to music we actually digged. I was 17 at the time. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though. Heineken Festival in Roundhay Park in Leeds... now THAT was a festival.

lol, nosferatu, that reminds me of going on holiday with friends post-A levels to Tenerife. We'd discussed the holiday beforehand, and yep, there was boozing involved, but everyone seemed up for going on day trips and, you know, BASIC HOLIDAY STUFF like going to the beach!! Instead when we got there my friends got incredibly wasted every night and were too hungover to do anything for most of the day. So I was annoyed with them, and they were annoyed that I insisted we go on a day trip to Mt Teide (which was cool, btw). Of course, if this happened now, I'd just go off on my own and find my own amusement, but at 17 I was less confident... Ah, I have always been a nerd I do, however, have excellent taste in shoes, so I like to think I am nerdish in a chic way.
