It's looking like I will need to go to Seattle sometime this fall. As long as I'm there...

Am I wrong to suspect that this will be a set mostly comprised of covers? lookie what i found earlier on the wonderful worldwide web: “underCOVER recognizes Southern Comfort’s long lasting history in music and introduces a new twist this year. During this one-of-a-kind performance, these artists will be covering their musical influences and playing their own music,” said Sean Wachsman, Southern Comfort, PR Manager. "Fans will be included from beginning to end in the most innovative ways. They need to send a text for the ticket code clueing them in on the band’s tribute and to show at the door. They’re part of a unique UV reveal during the show and can even choose a song for the band to cover during the encore.” "UV reveal" anyone?

This is horseshit. I have to give Southern Comfort my cell phone number?

Why can't this band play a real show instead of this corporate sponsored bullshit?

Why don't you not go if it does not please you?

Free show, some free booze, sounds like a bunch of horseshit to me.

Why can't this band play a real show instead of this corporate sponsored bullshit? That's something I've kept asking -- why oh why do the Hold Steady never perform except for this corporate sponsored bullshit? Why oh why?

This show will be a must see. If you are on the fence about going, I would suggest you definitely go. Wish I could make it but I can't.

Do people have tickets yet? I signed up but I've heard nothing. I know it says 24-hour notice, but do they really mean I won't know until tonight?
Trying to figure out whether to conveniently schedule a meeting in Seattle for Friday...

Just go ahead and schedule it. I got a reminder text about the show, which made me feel like I was in. So...see you there.

I was all e-mail (though I gave them my cell phone today when I sent an inquiry). Still no sign of anything.
I really don't need to be blowing off several hours of work time. But I really want to see this show...

I just got my text. Now, I've got to get work done so that I can get down to the Croc early tomorrow. Suddenly, every news source in town is pushing this show, and I have no idea how many people are going to show up, but my guess is far too many to fit into the venue.
oliver, nicollet, I'm sure yours will arrive soon. I will check in later to see if you've had any luck. If not, I may have a friend or two with some open +1s that you could use.
