Was at the drugstore, day before payday, wasn't sure how much I had in the bank to run my depit card through for a $13.99 twelve-pack.
Slid the card, entered pin, put my left hand behind my back, raised my right hand to the heavens and while thrusting my hips back and forth shouted "LORD GRANT ME TWENTY ! " Heh. They know me at Rite-aid...
The wife's a hypocondriac, right ? I'm on the phone telling my buddy in Texas she " Suffers from debatable afflictions."
Man. Finn comes up with some quotable lines, doesn't he !?
;D

I feel like "Lord grant me twenty" is more Homer Simpson than Craig Finn.

That reminds me, Kim. I've been meaning to tell you that I LOVE your picture. "I Love Lisa" is my favorite Simpsons episode of all time, hands down.

It's really only up there because I've been too lazy to change my image since Valentine's Day. It's funny because it's a train.
(P.S., best episode of The Simpsons ever is "Homer's Enemy." Followed by "You Only Move Twice." Frank "Grimey" Grimes > Hank Scorpio > Everything Else.)

Those are also fantastic. I was a HUGE simpsons nerd in middle school. I still have all the action figures/playsets in a closet somewhere. I even went through and made a very in depth Top 50 episodes list. I'm really partial to Lisa-centric episodes. The one with Dustin Hoffman as the substitute gets me everytime. It bums me out that what I used to consider "newer, inferior Simpsons episodes" have now become "older, inferior Simpsons episodes", and the "much older, far superior Simpsons episodes" never seem to see the light of day on my local television networks. Seasons 1-8, FTW!

I find I use a few of them in my everyday life. Besides the obvious "ya gotta stay positive" and such, I think "Dreams cost money and money cost dreams" and "You gotta dance with who you came to the dance with" are some of my favorites.

When describing something with mild enthusiasm, I've found myself using "It's mostly pretty nice, yeah, it's mostly pretty alright." Sounds much better than saying "It's OK." Also, I think mighta mentioned this before , but I've know many a "sexy mess".

"sexy mess" can sound pretty gross, too.

it's convoluted, but i'd like to think "you gotta stay hydrated" applies

Okay, on a tangent, but somewhat related... Anyone here on Facebook? Well, anyone here on Facebook who has used a Hold Steady lyric as their status? I'm guilty.. 'Chris likes the warm feeling, but he's tired of all the dehydration.' Partly because I'll be listening and then have to do it, partly because I'm secretly trying to brainwash everyone I know...

I find there is no better way to sum up a successful night on the town than the "almost killed me" status.

Sounds good! But.. Would you put '[Name] almost killed me'? Or like 'tonight almost killed me'?

I've definitely found myself "at some party at a dead end alley", "made love to the black and tans", and had some "Vodka, ice, and Gatorade".

I sometimes try to order double whiskey coke no ice...but apparently it's illegal to pour a double in IL? Fuck that shit. I think one of my favorites I drop into every day use is "it was kinda sexy, but it was kinda creepy."

"either dead or really tired" pretty much summed up last year. "stay positive" gets me through some days. "it hurts but it's worth it" is one i drop a lot.

I threw a whole line in a conversation today perfectly... But my memory is shot, I'll hopefully remember.

I just got back from the pub where I had the pleasure to say to a guy "It's great to see you back in a bar band Baby".
He's an old guy who suffers from MS and can't play drums so great anymore. But he just nailed a harmonica solo during Ice Cream Man that brought a tear to the eye of all in the room.
I love pub rock on bank holidays weekends.

Not really a quote . . . but Hot Soft Light . . . I've been straight since the Cinco de Mayo . . .
Didn't know where else to post.
