Hi guys, new to the forum from the uk, im probably too late to solve this but hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I managed to get a vinyl copy of teeth dreams from a store in england, £20 not bad. It arrived a few days later and fired it straight on to find an unreal scratchy noise all over both records. Contacted the store who sent a free replacement same again. Ive given both a proper clean which has improved them a little audibly... Only to find u play 1 track and my stylus gets covered with black dirt... And it only happens with these 2 albums. Just to add they are both the gold vinyl which i later found from here, looks like a faulty pressing across the board. Ive tried to contact Razo & Tie but no luck.. But then i am about 8 years late to the party with this i think. Its a pity too, the presentation and the vinyl looks amazing and i love that album despite its over shiny production!!!! Does anyone have any ideas regards the black vinyl which by all accounts is perfect. Ive got 2 gold copies that are really just for looking at!!! Thanks all

Black vinyl is okay, but nothing revelatory. I think the general sound of the album doesn’t translate well to vinyl, so until they remix it for an anniversary, it’s not going to ever sound amazing.

Any ideas if the black vinyl is still available?

If I recall, the first initial drops of vinyl had to be replaced due to poor quality.

Yep, sorry to say this was always an issue with the gold vinyl. That whole edition was flawed unfortunately. I think they replaced all the golds with black?
