Great weekend, thanks to every member of the unified scene who showed up, for those who couldn't make it you should try to make it next time, or the time after, put it on your bucket list if you believe in such things, London and the UK in general is not the physical home of the Hold Steady but it's certainly the spiritual home I believe. New York and all the other venues are great but there's nothing like the weekender in my opinion. My favourite event of the year by a long way.
Special thanks to Howard if you are reading. The top banana of the unified scene. π
Thanks for your company Tbob. π It was a lager fest wasn't it? Thanks for picking me up when my ass hit the floor.
Muzzle, your writing and analysis is second to none, so nice to see you again!π
Onto Toronto now. It's a hard job but someone has to do it. Cheers.π»

What a great weekend (again)! After missing 2020 (despite having a ticket for Bush Hall, jetlag got the best of me), I was wondering if the magic would still be there, but Friday and Sunday were both great. Someone mentioned the absolute roar that greeted them when the lights went down on Friday, and it's true; it felt really special, as did the rendition of We Can Get Together on Sunday.
I've never done a Saturday night as a) I try to go to Camden as little as possible and b) I generally go to THS stuff on my own, but might go for the treble next year.
After hearing Cutters (and what a fantastic rendition), my live wishlist is now down to three: Hornets Esther You Gotta Dance.
And my team won the quiz on Sunday!

Thanks, muzzle, for the stats. A great example of the difference between what you feel happened and what did happen! I was amazed at the number of songs played only once, thought there'd be far less. Also, I agree about teeth dreams, I'd love to hear more, when the drum started on 'we can get together' I thought it was 'the ambassador' and nearly fainted! Luckily it was great anyway. And to the last contributor considering all 3 nights, I did it for the first time this year and loved it. Thought I might be a bit underwhelmed on the 2nd and 3rd nights but the minute they took to the stage the rush was incredible, so go for it.

Hey guys. Lapsed member of 15 years here. Anyone receive merch yet ordered via fans.live from the weekender? No email updates since the show and they haven't replied to email I sent a few weeks ago. :/
