I was giving blood on campus today, and while I was sitting there, a girl on the bus said "It hurts but it's worth it." I got excited and squirted blood a little faster for a moment. I looked and there was no blue black ink or steel guitar strings, so I assumed it was just a coincidence. Anybody else have lines from THS or LFTR PLLR they've heard out and about? (I looked back for a thread like this but couldn't find one... thought one needed to be started )

My friend once asked me, "How am I supposed to know that you're drunk if you're not dancing" That's as close as I can get.

its less 'coicidence' and more 'probably a rip off' but when The Living End debuted 'White Noise' at a gig last year i got a bit giddy. a year of overplaying and its kinda worn out, but i still wonder if its a coincidence or a ripoff. and its still fun seeing crowds of thousands sing along to it

I subtly quote THS and LFTR all the time in hopes of a stranger noticing. It has yet to happen.

i get a kick out of local band The Warm Feelings. i used to think Gus Da Hoodrat, one of sydney's many annoying electro DJs, was a THS reference. until i played GTA
i need to learn some hiphop slang

i also feel like telling my best friend "i know its unlikely that you'll be mine but i mostly hope you don't die" straight up, since thats the subtext/often text in half our conversations and my poetry to her

i kept quoting them on wedensday... even the other online Unified Scene peeps thought it was a bit much how casual i did it. like 'yeah, i hate FBi. its full of sniffling indie kids'
i always get a thrill when other bands seem like they're quoting the guys, even if they're not. Holding steady on the rightious path, anyone?

I'd like to think that it stems from him not being able to do it as well as I do, though.

i do it when i'm poetry slamming, sometimes... i feel kinda badand i'm not sure if Craig would like me 'biting' his rhymes. ah well... its always part of some bigger improvisation kinda like how THS use lines from other songs

I do it often. Usually surreptitiously and to non-fans. When I do it to fans, they pick up on it and bust my balls.
One time, an ex told me that, as a couple, we had to "hold steady, baby" during a rough patch. She actually hated the band and was the reason I couldn't go to the T5 show on Thanksgiving Eve two Thanksgivings ago.
And I never saw that girl again.

if people told me to 'stay positive' instead of 'stop being so emo' i'd be more likely to follow their advice

look i was raised on normal videogames, where the things you didn't shoot said 'i'm a hostage. don't shoot!' or the game told you what not to shoot before the game started (i love you, Point Blank)

I hear the phrase "She was a sexy mess" in reference to a particular girl frequently. If it's ever completed with "She looked strung out but experienced", I'll probably die.

Last week, after drinking vodka while bowling, drinking vodka while zombie-shooting, and drinking vodka while dance dance revolutioning, we went to pizza hut. They didn't have any vodka so I had to get a glass of wine. When asked why I was upset about having to have a different drink, I told them "You gotta dance with who you came to the dance with".

My wife is obsessed with a line from a live recording that goes "Goodnight Minneapolis Saint Paul I fucking love ya!" We go out and shes dropping that in the bar and people are just like WTF?

i quote them in life constantly. and art brut. when ben and aimee and kate were in my apartment all weekend, there was WAY too much of the THS quoting.
