The line "it really sucks when you get stuck here with these Trevors" from Barfruit Blues has always confused me. I've tried and failed multiple times to figure out what this means (in a literal sense), but I can't find any info on the term "Trevor" besides the fact that it's a name, and it's not referencing anything specific that I can find. Any info on this would be great. I'd love to hear people's interpretations.

It’s way too early to be Trevor Phillips from Grand Theft Auto, and Urban Dictionary isn’t getting me anything. For some reason I thought it was Valley Girl slang for ‘preppie’.

Pretty sure it's a self-reference to the previous lyric about "clever kids" as in "clever Trevor." But I could be wrong. I think I remember hearing Craig mention the "clever Trevor" thing during an intro or a podcast or something

In that podcast series released around the reissues of Almost Killed Me and Separation Sunday, Craig talks about how it's thought of as a name of a boring and/or not very likeable guy. I also think he refers to The Grifters, and some member of that band using "Trevor" as such a term. Should go back and listen through it again anyway, but I think it's sort of explained there.

I guess there isn't really a ton of depth to this line, then, but the rhyme does sound good. Thanks, I'll have to go check this out. The lyric seems pretty uncharacteristic of Craig, in my opinion, but I'll look into The Grifters thing too and see if it adds anything.

It's in one of these. I can't fully remember the Grifters story, but it surely had something to do with them.
