weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/features/arts/music/blog/2009/02/_the_cofounder_of_langerado.htmla sign of poor planning/site/logistics or the sign of times to come for all festivals? the hold steady played (actually rawked this event amongst mostly retread jam bands) @ this festival in 2007. in 2008 the festival organizers dreamed big and tried to take this event to a larger park in the everglades on alligator alley and get "really big headliners" like r.e.m. and the beastie boys. in the end, it was a rare cold and rainy weekend in south florida. alligator alley = 2 lanes in and out of one place for 45,000 people and tour buses tend to sink in such muck. brilliant. move it to miami and the hippies and wookies are going to be shuffled off south beach and then have trouble staking their tents and drum circles in the concrete downtown. is your favorite festival next? or was this just a local deal? at a minimum ... it is a shot across the bow to the industry.

It was a terrible festival, it couldn't decide who it wanted to be and the crowd it drew wasn't the crowd that gives a festival legs.
