Anyone heard any news/reviews/feedback on the gig and new songs?

Surprisingly quiet about the show on the boards. Would love to get a report. Or some recordings.

I have a feeling that the record made by the same man with the same cast is going to sound similar to the last two, but I loved them ( the last one in particular) so much that I'm excited for word.

I'm really excited for this album. We All Want The Same Things was a big step up in every way imo. Hope this takes that sound even further. I can't imagine him topping God In Chicago but I'd be up for more music in that style too

The show was excellent. They opened with Be Honest and Maggie I’ve Been Searching for Our Son, then played the new record. Encore was God in Chicago and Trapper Ave. A crew filmed the show.
Live versus recorded caveats apply, of course, but my impression was that the new record has a similar sound to the two previous, only...bigger? I didn’t think a single song missed. Thematically, Craig said (if memory serves) that the album explores how people react to a world changing around them, with the “centerpiece” song being Grant in Galena (Ulysses S. Grant had a period post-Westpoint and Mexican-American War where he was unable to succeed in civilian life and “needed a new war”.) Hence the album title, I Need a New War.
Long story short, first impressions were completely positive and I can’t wait to pick up the new record.

Did he mention roughly when it'll be out?

I think the release is still just a vague “spring 2019” date. Now I REALLY hope I’m remembering the album title accurately...drinks were had though, soooooo....
