I love Doughty! A Soul Coughing reunion is needed Don't tell him that. Seriously- I've done my fair share of shows- but Mike Doughty was one of the least-fun people to work with. He did this whole little rant during his Harrisburg show about how "embarrassed" he is of his Soul Coughing days. C'mon dude. Shit ain't that bad.

Soul Coughing is way better than his solo work. And his solo shows are boring. Soul Coughing shows were a blast.

So, then, are we okay with "Super Bon Bon" selling cars?

I'm fine with anyone selling their songs to a commercial. In the case of bands that are still around it gives them the chance to keep doing what they are doing and for bands that are no longer with us, hopefully the extra money will keep them out of trouble.

Granted, my mind was a nomadic mess that night, but I don't remember him dissin Soul Coughing..... I only remember him refusing to play Super Bon Bon, which was/is a good call... Doughty's stage presence can sometimes be meh and he definitely comes off as arrogant, but I've always fallen for his shows and there's something about the music, both Soul Coughing and his solo stuff, that hits me in the heart center... Didn't you say he was playing New Years?

I saw him at the TLA in the Spring... It was OK. I like his solo stuff, but it'll never be as good as the SC stuff. Saw them back in (maybe) '99 at the Electric Factory. Solid Show.
