There's a line in "Runner's High" that describes someone as "prancing all around like some Kansas City clown."
Is "Kansas City clown" a reference to something? Nothing's jumping out to me.

I'd love to hear an answer, but I don't have one unfortunately. I've found that with CF, those occasional sort of seemingly off-note lyrics always have some sort of origin or root in story, but they bug me until I figure out what they are and can justify them, haha...

It doesn't seem like it. Maybe they were in Kansas City, he was acting goofy, and CF liked the alliteration?

There's and old insult in the rural South that involves Kansas City and a slur. I thought this was maybe a cleaned up in character reference.
