Pretty small room compared to Union Transfer.

I thought it was roughly the same size? I always assumed UA opened as direct competition to UT

Me and Camie are 100% in for this show. That'll be 3 shows in 5 days after Baltimore and Boston.
I've yet to be at UA, so can't really speak to its size...

I saw Frank Turner at Underground Arts in June 2013. Venue holds about 600--the club was a sauna that night with 5000% humidity & probably a dozen visible safety hazards. Good beer and a great show, though.

UA reminds me of an upscale version of the church. I definitely think it's smaller than UT- sight lines not as good, but beer was cheaper.

I've been there for a couple Fringe Theatre shows. If there are only a dozen visible safety hazards left, they've cleaned up their act. This will be my first rock show there.

This was before my shoulder surgery and I really fight to hold my position as I normally would so I ended up,with some pretty bad bruises and was thrown around a lot that night. But yeah, really weird sight lines, small stage.... Gonna be pretty rad.

Underground Arts just updated their site... looks like Cheap Girls are rejoining the tour. They're opening this show.

Way to exaggerate the amount of bags of confetti I bought by 94.... I bought 6 bags for 3 shows... 2 bags a show.. .not excessive at all...

(First post here.) I'm really looking forward to this show. My first Hold Steady show was a couple months back at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, and I will be seeing them again at Boston Calling (9/6). As great as that is, it will be a different experience in a more intimate indoor venue (where they are actually headlining). I've been to Underground Arts before and it's pretty damn small (which is a good thing in my book).
I'll probably be going to the Philly show solo. I have little idea what this "unified scene" is (is it still active?), but I will keep an eye open for the diehard fans and maybe say hi. (I'll be the guy in the brown THS boxer shirt bouncing around like a jack-in-the-box).
I first started listening to THS back when BAGIA came out, which I loved, but I never saw them live and subsequently forgot about the band for many years. It was only with "Teeth Dreams" that I've really gotten back into them and listened to all their stuff. I currently have all six albums on heavy rotation. I find it really difficult to say "which band" I prefer. I love the rocking bar band and clever wordplay of the first couple of albums, as well as the sing-along anthems of BAGIA and SP. I also dig the polished, mature sound of HIW (which, believe it or not, I have on heaviest rotation). Then TD is another sonic evolution altogether, with the additional guitar and slightly darker sound.
What the hell, I’m in love this band, so I might as well post my dream setlist: - Positive Jam - Stuck Between Stations - Banging Camp - The Only Thing - Massive Nights - First Night - Spinners - You Can Make Him Like You - Chicago Seemed Tired Last Night - Slapped Actress - Hurricane J - The Swish - You Gotta Dance - South Town Girls - Stay Positive - Killer Parties
- Knuckles - Chips Ahoy - The Weekenders - Constructive Summer

I was there as well, we threw confetti and completely startled the poor security guard... Well either way, Cory and I will also be @ Boston Callinl... I'll be the Hyper chick with the guy in a backwards philly sports hat who both love the throw confetti during Hoodrat and the rare occasional Killer Parties. No idea either day what I will be wearing... but seriously, come say hi and we'll provide you confetti to throw. @ Underground Arts we'll be the couple towards the front (as front as we can possibly get #brendanearly) to stage right of Craig.

Hello! I'm new to the board and Monday will be my first show. I was referred here by 'theoyster'. Wondering if there is a place that fans will be meeting up before the UA show on Monday. Also, I have an extra ticket because a friend backed out. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks and can't wait for the show!!!
