The Hold Steady or any band for that matter??? I've flown to Georgia to see Son Volt in Atlanta twice and Athens once. I've also flown to Boston from Maryland to see Robert Pollard and Tommy Keene at the Paradise, which incidentally, is the best club with the possible exception of the 930 in DC.

I flew to California for a weekend in 2004 to see the Pixies at Coachella. That was obviously a festival and not just one band, but I wouldn't have even considered it if they weren't playing.
Of course I had no idea they'd continue to play for another decade afterwards. Still worth it.

Christmas 2012 I was visiting my mom in Hawaii. Took an overnight flight direct from Honolulu to Chicago, where Rob picked me up and drove us to Montclair for the Hold Steady's New Year's Eve gig. About 5,300 miles in less than twenty four hours is the furthest I've ever gone for a band.

Flew to Chicago for Riot Fest this year from Boston.
In 2008 I took a bus from Boston to Baltimore for The Hold Steady.

Oslo -> Dublin might have been the furthest. I've crossed borders to see Hold Steady at four different occasions (Copenhagen > Amsterdam, Amsterdam > London, Copenhagen > Salisbury and Oslo > Dublin).

I took a summer job in Madrid one year because The Ramones tour passed through while I was there.

England to Rome for Bruce last year would be my furthest. And totally merited as well.
