WXPN announced that THS will be one of the acts performing at the Non-Comm May 14-16 in Philly. The Non-Comm is an industry convention for non-commercial radio programmers. WXPN uses tickets to the showcases as promotions. For example, if you pledge in their Fund Drive today, you are entered in a drawing for a pair of tickets to the Non-Comm plus three nights hotel accommodations. BUT since "no pledge is necessary to enter the contest" you can put your name in the hat by entering here: xpn.org/inside-xpn/legal/contest-rules-noncomm-2014Do it today, it's one day only. THS played the Non-Comm five or six years ago, and I think some of the Unified Scene managed to sneak in for their set.

whoaa, I snuck into this in 2008. I was a freshman in college and the program director of wxpn said we looked like we were having too much fun to kick out and let us stay for THS set. My first post on the Unified Scene was to talk about it! Time sure does fly.

I literally just stood outside and waited for a large crowd to go in. There were no tickets just like around the neck laminate things that the door person was checking so once the band started and everyone who was outside was rushing in it was fairly easy to sneak past. But since every other person in there was a male over the age of 40 and we were the only ones dancing/screaming the words they noticed and kicked us out pretty quickly. but it all worked out in the end, the program director like ran over and said to let us back in as long as we didn't drink anything and we left when ths were done playing...
Also Ani Difranco was the opener for that show, a lineup I would like to see again.

katiee, I bet that was the Station Mgr, Roger LeMay. We call him "The Hair." The program director looks like Nosferatu. He'd have kicked you to the curb.

Not seeing THS mentioned on this page: xpn.org/events/non-commWonder what happened? Still plenty of great acts on there, though.
